1. The development of English Coins

English coins have evolved and modified over time. In the early 1600's coins were made using the hammer struck method. Hammered coins or cast coins where the primary way coins were made and thus limited the number of coins that might be placed into circulation. Hammered coins were made as far back as the 1st millennium BC and continued in use until the 1500 to the 1700's. English coins underwent a modify in roughly 1663. 2. The Gregorian Telescope - The first practical Reflector

The Gregorian Telescope is an interesting design of reflector and it was the first practical design for a telescope that used a mirror. It is still used in modern times but only in very limited circumstances.
Credit for the first reflector goes to an Italian professor named Niccolo Zucchi. He made his first scope in 1616 but the design of his scopes was not very practical. James Gregory was a Scottish Mathematician and Astronomer of the 17th Century and he is credited with having designed the first practical reflector telescope. First actor Thespis was the first performer ever recorded. He was an actor in Greece in 534BC. At this time, Greek actors used masks, and Thespis was the first to use stage make-up.
World’s oldest theatres The oldest indoor theatre in the world is the Teatro Olimpico, Vicenza, Italy, which opened in 3 March 1585. London’s oldest theatre is the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, which opened on 7 May 1663. It burnt down in 1672 and was rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren. 4. The Algonquin Bible

The first bible to be printed in America was the Algonquin Bible by John Eliot. The Algonquin Bible was first published in 1663 in Cambridge, Mass. The Algonquin Bible was also the first bible printed in the western hemisphere. Until the later 1700's English bibles could more cheaply be printed in England and imported to America than they could be printed in America. Many people are surprised to learn the first bible printed in America was not in English, French or German. The Algonquin Bible was printed in the Massachusetts Indian dialect - Algonquin.
