452. Napa is the First California County to Require Background Checks for Senior Caregivers
October 25, 2013

In California, and many other states across the nation, nearly anyone can become a private caregiver. Napa County is doing its best to ensure that criminals are not able to become caregivers. Napa is the only California county to require home care providers to apply for and carry a Caregiver Permit. Napa elder abuse attorneys say that the program should be expanded to help protect senior citizens from caregiver fraud. The Caregiver Permit program in Napa is the first of its kind in the state of California. Caregivers who have permits have passed background checks and are legally permit... (read more)

453. Three Great Idols of Modern Man - High Priest not far Behind
October 25, 2013

There may be thousands of idols that transfix the imagination of modern man, but three of them are now rising to the surface around the globe. They have all, but replaced religious convictions and their universality is appealing to almost everyone. What are they? Feelings; The idol of flesh “How can it be wrong if it feels so right?” The idiom of the lost generation. The argument against Darwinism notwithstanding, the clear product of the evolutionary model is that it allows and encourages the fulfillment of one of scriptures strongest last day’s warnings. It is prophetic predic... (read more)

454. Christening of a Future King
October 24, 2013

by Frederick Hoehn Copyright 2013 It was in the news today about "The Christening of a Future King," meaning the newborn son of the royal Prince, son of the passed-on Princess Diana in England. It was reported that the infant was baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury with water from the Jordan River. No doubt that so-called baptism was by sprinkling, since baptism by immersion would have tended to be somewhat traumatic for the infant, and a small bottle of water from the Jordan would not have been enough for a baptism by immersion. Now who else baptizes infants by... (read more)

455. Obamacare Website Flop
October 24, 2013

by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013. The Obamacare Website has been available now for more than two weeks. It has proven to be a colossal flop. People who registered early found that their registrations were canceled. Many couldn't get on the website at all. The website has been shut down for periods of time such as one forty-two hour shutdown reported on TV. If the administration can't get the website right, how are they going to get your health care right? The President got on TV and gave a toll-free number to call, instead of the website. But when people called ... (read more)

456. Why Obamacare is Unconstitutional
October 24, 2013

by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013. We Americans have certain rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution of the United States and its amendments. In this article, I am exercising two of those Constitutional Rights, The Freedom of Speech, and The Freedom of Religion. As a Christian, it is my duty to teach others what I know, as I find opportunity to do so. Jesus wants me to teach and preach, so I will. Seeing the title of this article, some might say, "But Fred, don't you know that the Supreme Court has recently found Obamacare to be constitutional?" Yes, by a 5 to 4 vo... (read more)

October 24, 2013

As I have advanced through the decades living the fabled American Dream, like you I’ve noticed quite a few changes with respect to a number of life’s aspects including children’s activities, sports, home life, social life, and technology to name a few. Some changes have improved our lot, some have worsened it, and others are too soon to call. Change, beneficial and otherwise, is the only universal constant; nothing remains static. Me, I attempt to learn from the past, not necessarily to predict the future, but mainly to avoid repeating the same screw-ups. Sometimes I’m successful. My rec... (read more)

I thought maybe the media would pick up on it and call the man to task. (cricket sounds) Look, I understand that he’s their man, and they will bend over backward to support him. That’s all right. October 21, 2013

The full effects of Muslim Jihad can’t be hidden from view in our world of instant communications. Western media is selective about what it tells the public and the West is fast developing a selective psyche about what it wants us to hear or see. America is in a bubble, where the biggest battle may be trying to get the LGBT agenda forced down the throats of every citizen from LA to Boston, if even that can be seen or heard over Obama’s latest antics like the government shutdown. While this is happening the Patriarch of the Russian Coptic Church has written letters to President Obam... (read more)

468. How Much Is Enough?
October 20, 2013

The human race is experiencing a massive population explosion. This planet does not have enough resources to sustain the seven billion plus people living on it. I am only somewhat familiar with term exponential growth, but it may apply to our situation. We cannot hope to expand our civilization into the universe. While the universe is infinite, the resources needed to maintain our existence is not. What the Earth has available for us is limited. My theory and this is not actually my theory, is that humans have a false sense of deprivation. Not all of us of course, but I feel safe in... (read more)

469. Obama says: Don't Listen to Anyone but Me!
October 20, 2013

It had to happen. After every victory Barack Obama not only gloats, but in very vindictive and overt ways he rubs it in the face of those he thinks he has trumped. He has gone above and beyond just ridiculing those who wanted to defund ObamaCare with advice for all Americans to stop listening to other Americans! In a very Hitlerian kind of admonishment, he said we should all stop listening to radio hosts, bloggers and talking heads and just help him to get on with his plan to save the economy, jobs et al. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntsmOVRvcZs It is abundantly clear t...
