A major organ of the endocrine system, the anterior pituitary, also called the adenohypophysis, is the glandular, anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. The anterior pituitary regulates several physiological processes including stress, growth, and reproduction. Its regulatory functions are achieved through the secretion of various peptide hormones that act on target organs including the adrenal gland, liver, bone, thyroid gland, and gonads. The anterior pituitary itself is regulated by the hypothalamus and by negative feedback from these target organs. Disorders of the anterior pituitary are generally classified by the presence of over- or underproduction of pituitary hormones. For example, a prolactinoma is a pituitary adenoma that overproduces prolactin. In Sheehan's syndrome of postpartum hypopituitarism, the anterior pituitary uniformly malfunctions and underproduces all hormones. Proper function of the anterior pituitary and of the organs it regulates can often be ascertained via blood tests that measure hormone levels. The pituitary gland is a pea-sized gland that sits in a protective bony enclosure called the sella turcica. It is composed of three lobes anterior, intermerdiate, and posterior. In many animals, these three lobes are distinct. However, in humans, the intermediate lobe is but a few cell layers thick and indistinct; as a result, it is often considered part of the anterior pituitary. In all animals, the fleshy, glandular anterior pituitary is distinct from the neural composition of the posterior pituitary.

2. Human growth hormone (HGH): Does it slow aging?
September 17, 2009
Many Scientists define aging as the degradation of skeletal muscle formation. Some say it?s an inability of DNA cell reproduction. In both cases, your human growth hormones are at the root of the subject. Human growth hormones are produced in your Anterior Pituitary gland and play a big role in cell reproduction and in your immune system function. Natural production of these hormones in your body starts to fall of when you turn twenty and is at half of its original production when you turn sixty.
Several factors contribute to the decline in production of these hormones which accelerates... (read more)

3. Sytropin Hgh - Human Growth Hormone Supplement
September 17, 2009
The human growth hormone is secreted in the anterior region of the pituitary gland. At some stage in life, specifically in the latter part of growth, the secretion unfortunately slows down and comes to a stop. The negative effects of having less growth hormones in the body can easily be associated with the usual signs of aging. Weakness, poor motor coordination, blunt memory and wrinkled skin are just some of them. There is a way to help the body continue its healthy secretion of this precious hormone. One method is through the use of an oral spray called Sytropin. As one of the best growth st... (read more)

July 06, 2009
Human growth hormone has been identified for its effect on the growth processes in the human body. Growth hormone as the name suggests itself is primarily concerned with the ideal height of an individual. Now, how does HGH actually play in the growth process?
HGH is a protein hormone that has a 190 amino acids sequence. It is a major product of the anterior pituitary gland and is produced by cells called somatotrophs. Aside from the HGH, there are other hormones that are involved in the growth process thus making it more complex than other processes.? In general, the growth hormone excites... (read more)

Age Doesn't Matter For Human Growth Hormone Diseases
Human growth hormone (HGH) functions all throughout a man's life. The anterior part of the pituitary gland, which produces HGH, continuously secretes HGH even as people grow older. However, the amount of HGH secretion decreases as people exceeds the puberty years. Adults are prone to many diseases because their immune system weakens thus affecting the whole body system. Adults, like children, are also susceptible to HGH diseases.
HGH diseases are mainly of two kinds; deficiency of HGH and excessive HGH. HGH diseases in adults have tw... (read more)

8. What Are The Benefits of Sytropin?
June 23, 2009
Human Growth Hormone is a hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland in the brain. Human Growth Hormone promotes tissue repair, cell regeneration in the bones, muscles and vital organs, and supports the immune system in combating infection and disease. As the body's cells die off, HGH acts as a “trigger” to ensure that replacement cells are healthy and readily available.
Scientist found out that the benefit of human growth hormones, and to make it accessible to the public they provide it by injection as the only way to get the benefit of human growth hormones.

9. Supplementing The Body's Growth
December 25, 2008
HGH or Human Growth Hormone is produced by the anterior pituitary gland in the brain, and its two main effects are preventing the storage of fat in the body, and maintaining a youthful appearance. It is known as somatotropin and is a protein containing more than 190 amino acids. The HGH targets fat cells as they have no receptors for growth. This hormone is at its peak during the infancy to adolescence stage, and diminishes rapidly after that. Therefore, not surprisingly, HGH supplements are greatly in demand. The HGH supplements are beneficial in a number of ways. Some of the benefits in... (read more)

11. The Effects and Benefits of Wachstumshormon
December 11, 2007
Wachstumshormon, or growth hormone, is a protein hormone, which is secreted by the somatotroph cells of the anterior pituitary gland. This hormone, also referred to as somatotropin, is responsible for growth stimulation and cell reproduction in both humans and animals. Wachstumshormon has anabolic effects upon the tissues of the body. The best-known effect of this hormone is height growth, which occurs during childhood. However, wachstumshormone serves metabolic functions as well. These include the increase of calcium retention, as well as that of bone mineralization; the creation of new muscl... (read more)

12. How HGH Supplements Work
November 07, 2007
Human growth hormone, also called somatotropin, is a protein hormone of 190 amino acids (building blocks of protein) that is created and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. It has two types of effects, both of which are highly beneficial to the vital, active human body.
One main type of action of the HGH is its direct effects on other kinds of cells. The growth hormone binds to its receptor on target cells, then creates some particular action. Fat cells, for example, are the target cells of HGH, so they have growth hormone receptors. Once bonded there, the growth hormone causes them... (read more)

13. Human Growth Hormone Bodybuilding
September 06, 2007
Human growth hormone bodybuilding: all you wanted to know about HGH and gaining bulk
The Human Growth Hormone, HGH, comes from the pituitary gland and is a hormonal secretion that is essentially a polypeptide aiding development and overall health in the human body. When this HGH hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland is less than the normal levels required by the body, there is slow or no development in an individual; this often shifts the focus from exercise and diet control for simply regulating tissue growth, cellular repair, energy levels, fat loss to using enhancers that bo... 14. What is HGH
September 28, 2006
What is HGH? Literally, the acronym refers to human growth hormone, a hormone produced by the human pituitary gland. The pituitary, also called the hypophysis, is a small pea-sized gland located in the head, below the brain and above the oral cavity. The front portion, called the anterior pituitary, produces human growth hormone and a number of other hormones that regulate body functions. While many hormones act on specific body tissues, growth hormone acts on the whole body, especially during childhood and adolescence. In later life, the production of growth hormone is reduced and the major f... (read more)

15. HGH - Human Growth Hormone
July 18, 2006
HGH ( HUMAN GROWTH HORMONE )
Human growth hormone (hGH) is a polypeptide hormone made in the anterior pituitary gland (the pituitary gland is the master gland, located in the center of the brain) that stimulates the release of another hormone called somatomedin by the liver, promoting growth in humans. It controls muscle and bone growth and lowers the amount of fat in the body. HGH is the primary hormone responsible for growth in humans and it helps regulate metabolism. Growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) and ghrelin (a hormone produced by the stomach) stimulate HGH release. Insulin-l... (read more)
