2. Identity Theft: It Won't Happen To Me.
November 10, 2005
"I got bad credit I'm not worried" "It happened to a friend of a friend" "I've got other priorities now" "All it takes is guarding your Social Security number" "I can trust the people around me"
These quotes are all too common regarding identity theft. The problem is the Federal Trade Commission, various law enforcement agencies and identity theft experts have stated there are no 100% guarantees and the numbers for identity theft keep getting worse.

3. Quick Strategies For Writing Your Essay Under Pressure
September 07, 2005
Most writing is done under time pressure. Yet, while the majority of students have to write in haste - with limited time, limited space and an instructor to please - few approach to this task systematically. Though, writing under increasing time pressure requires the ability to zero in one activity, turning all the strengths to successful fulfillment of this task in tight schedule.
Pressure makes some students feel frustrated, freak out and distract their mind and attention from writing. Other students, on the contrary, enjoy the rush, feeling oddly motivated by the pressure.
But still over... (read more)

4. Mabel's ‘Be-Able' - Tips and things ....
August 12, 2005
Well, here we are just a few weeks after the Christmas celebrations and already they seem in the distant past and all we are left with are happy memories (I hope), a few pounds heavier and lots and lots of sterling pounds lighter. But, never mind, this is the time of year when we forget the grey skies outside, turn to the tantalising holiday brochures and picture ourselves lying on that sun drenched beach in the Bahamas . . . Well, we can all dream can't we? Personally, I need a goal ahead as I always think that February is the dullest month of the year when nothing is actually happening (apar... (read more)

5. Constipation remedy using citrus juice
June 20, 2005
Citrus Juices
Citrus juices are a constipation remedy that is an excellent way to stimulate your colon and other parts of the body. Since your colon is less active at night, drinking juices as soon as you awaken and get up can stimulate strong peristaltic action and promote a bowel movement.
Lemons
Lemons are filled with minerals, especially potassium, Vitamin C, and bioflavonoids. They have a cleansing action for the entire body.
Fresh lemon juice is the king of fruit juices. It contains citric acid, which acts in the body in a way no other juice does. First it acts on the li... (read more)

6. Using A Word List To Solve Problems
June 19, 2005
To creatively solve problems you need to get your mind looking in new directions. You can systematically do this by using a list of words, primarily adjectives, to create "what if?" scenarios. You start with the question, "what if it was..." and then insert a word from the list. The "it" in the question is the problem you're trying to solve, or the solution or situation that exists now.
Using "What If" To Solve Problems
An example will help explain the process. Assume your house is too crowded because you're running your business from it. You ask, "What if it was..." and insert from ... (read more)

7. Stronger Willpower Today
June 16, 2005
Have you ever wished you had stronger willpower? How can you make yourself stop doing things you don't want to do? There are ways, and the first thing to do is to redefine the concept of willpower.
Self Awareness Instead Of Willpower
It's hard to resist temptation sometimes, isn't it? That piece of cake calls to you. What's the simple answer to this? Don't stand in front of the cake! Don't go to the bar alone if you want a faithful marriage. Don't have whiskey in the house if you don't want to drink it. Stay away from people that lead you to trouble.
People often have this idea ... (read more)

8. Voices In Your Head
June 15, 2005
Doctor Julian Jaynes wrote about a woman who talked daily to her long-dead grandmother, who she saw sitting in a chair each morning. As far as the doctor could tell, the woman never suffered any ill effects from this. In fact, she readily accepted that it was a hallucination, which didn't bother her at all. She just found the conversations, and her grandmother's advice, helpful.
Advice From Ghosts
Hallucinations aren't necessary, but why not have a conversation in your head with somebody helpful? If you want advice on love, talk to the Dalai Lama. Talk to Andrew Carnegie or Lee Iacoc... (read more)
