1. Kerala's Dying Art Form

A 700 year old art form of Kerala is dying because of lack of patronage.The art form is called Thidambu Nrityam.It is practised by the Namboodiris at temples in Kannur and Kasaragod in Kerala. The dance form is performed with an idol of the temple deity.The deity is decorated with ornaments and flowers.It is fixed to a circular or a semicircular 'chattam' which is made of bamboo or wood. After this rutual,the decorated 'thidambu' as it is called,is placed on the dancer's head on an 'Usnipeetham'.The dance is accompanied by 'chenda' and also other percussion instruments. More on... 5. Don't Get A Tattoo Because A Lover Demanded It

Alright, I know today isn’t Wednesday but I have another post sort of related to celebrities. I was reading the latest tattoo news and I found this story about singer Charlotte Church. She is demanding that her boyfriend and father of her one year old daughter as well as the baby she is currently pregnant with to get her name tattooed somewhere on his body. She believes that because they are not married that he should do something special for her. She has even started to think up tattoo designs for him. The Giacomo Puccini Centre is a an Italian Language school recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education. The centre is located 500 meters from the beach in Viareggio (Tuscany), well-known city for its Carnival celebration.
