The bicycle, cycle, or bike is a pedal-driven, human-powered vehicle with two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century and now number about one billion worldwide.[1] They are the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a popular form of recreation, and have been adapted for such uses as children's toys, adult fitness, military and police applications, courier services, and competitive sports. The basic shape and configuration of a typical bicycle has changed little since the first chain-driven model was developed around 1885.[2] Many details have been improved, especially since the advent of modern materials and computer-aided design. These have allowed for a proliferation of specialized designs for particular types of cycling. The bicycle has had a considerable effect on human society, in both the cultural and industrial realms. In its early years, bicycle construction drew on pre-existing technologies; more recently, bicycle technology has, in turn, contributed both to old and new areas.

1. Exercise bike - Which style to choose.
August 30, 2008
Upright exercise bikes are the closest to a standard bicycle, that is the pedals are beneath the rider, and the rider is seated on a narrow seat with the handlebars out in front. This arrangement is welcomed by hardcore cyclists because of the similarity to there normal road bike. Upright bikes simulate the action of a real bike except you don't go anywhere. Some experts say the upright bike is more efective than the recumbent as you tend to put more effort in than the relaxed position of the recumbent.
On the other hand the recumbent bike, has a bucket seat which have the pedals out in f... (read more)

August 22, 2008
Don't we all want to be successful? In life? As a person? In your career, job, business?
The fundamental law of human achievement is the law of belief. It suggests that you always behave in a manner consistent with your beliefs. If you believe you are a Roman Catholic, then you are. If you believe you are a Buddhist, you are. If you believe you can ride a bicycle, then you can ride a bicycle. Even if you can't ride a bicycle as long as you believe you can, but if not then you will persist in failing until you can actually ride. Unfortunately, once you decide you can't ride a bicycle, then... (read more)

August 20, 2008
Scotsman Kirkpatrick McMillan created the first pedal powered bicycle in 1839, and was involved in the first recorded bike accident when, during a cycling trip to Glasgow in 1842, a small girl ran out in front of him leaving her a little bruised and him 5 shillings poorer! Over 160 years later the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) reported that over 15 thousand cyclists are killed or injured in reported road accidents and more than 2,300 are seriously injured or killed.

10. History of the Harley Davidson Bike
August 05, 2008
Today, Harley Davidson motorcycles are a household name, but it hasn't always been that way. The Harley Davidson Company officially began with the completion of its first bike in 1903. Unofficially it all began in 1901 when a young man named William S. Harley had a vision for attaching an engine to a bicycle. He drew up plans for a small engine that displaced 7.07 cubic inches and had 4-inch flywheels. He designed this engine for use on a regular pedal-bicycle frame. By 1903 William Harley had joined with his boyhood friend Arthur Davidson, as well as Arthur's brother Walter. They used the ... (read more)

13. Why You Too Should Be Cycling
July 24, 2008
Do you remember when you first took to your bicycle, it was so you could be like one of the big kids? Then, as soon as you mastered the bike, it quickly became your primary mode of transportation, because you could get to where you wanted to go a lot faster than walking. Then you got your drivers license, and the bicycle was parked, probably for several years. For some of us it was stored away for eons, until the family Doctor suggested that we “…get a little exercise”. And yes, it’s easy for someone else to tell you what it is you should be doing with your life, and it is quite common th... (read more)

A commercial exercise bike is one of the most popular home exercise equipment. It provides users with an effective physical fitness regimen at the comfort of their homes at mostly reasonable price. It also allows users to multitask and save time since they do not need to drive to the gym.
There are two major types of exercise bikes, the upright and the recumbent. An upright bike is the more traditional type; it is the same as riding a regular bicycle (in a vertical position) except that it remains stationary. The recumbent, on the other hand, provides a backrest that allows the user to re... (read more)

The first motorcycle was designed and built by German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in 1885, it was essentially a motorised bicycle. Some also say that the first motorcycle was built by Sylvester Howard Roper of Roxbury, Massachusetts in 1867.

If you keep persisting, you'll find you will see results in no time at all. People also constantly get themselves in trouble as they do the exercises incorrectly. July 02, 2008
Invention of the Bicycle and Cycling
Bicycles nowadays are taken for granted, but they have not always been around. Here we take a look at the development of the bicycle and the popularity of cycling.
In almost every home in the world there is a bicycle. I am sure we can all remember our very first bicycle, and how we learned to cycle.
