So you have recently booked your very first driving lesson. Congratulations, but what exactly does your first lesson cover? and what will happen over the coming weeks? This article will discuss exactly what you can expect in your first driving lesson and exactly what you and your driving instructor will discuss in the future. We will look at the different manoeuvres, the various health and safety requirements, the in car controls, modern cars driving ability and how you can pass your theory test first time, putting you in the best position to pass your driving test first time. In Car Controls These days, there are many different controls that young drivers must be aware of before they can begin learning to drive. A couple of year ago there was no such thing as an electronic handbrake or start/stop ignition. It was simply just a key, ignition switch and a physical handbrake that needed to be pulled up to ensure that the car was secured. On your first lesson, your driving instructor will take you through each control and show you exactly how they are operated. Make sure that you are listening because the more time that is spent on learning the in car controls will be wasted on your driving lesson.
Modern Cars and How They Drive As I mentioned on the point just above this, newer cars drive completely differently. Make sure that you listen to every word that your instructor says to you, they will not want to keep repeating themselves over and over again. Diesel powered cars do not necessarily require any gas to be put into the engine to make it move off. Unlike petrol cars where you need to feed the engine with fuel to get it biting. This is usually one of the more difficult steps in learning to drive but a friend of mine who teaches driving lessons in Manchester ensures me that it is for the very best and to help improve your driving ability. Driving Manoeuvres Learning to drive, you will come in touch with four main driving manoeuvres. These are the turn in the road, reverse around a corner, parallel park and bay park. To pass your driving test first time, you must complete one of these manoeuvres successfully and to a test standard. Your driving instructor will take you through a number of training and practice techniques to ensure that you manage to get it right in one attempt. In some of the manoeuvres you are allowed to complete the task in more than one attempt, however, if more than three on certain ones, you could end up failing your test. Make sure that you check with your driving instructor so you know your limits. driveJohnson's is a national driving school franchise in the UK and provide affordable driving lessons in more than 120 locations. We offer self employed driving instructors the opportunity to increase the number of pupils they currently teach and allow them to develop going forward with regular training opportunities.
