Early starts, long days and hard labour. It's a lifestyle that isn't suited to everyone, but it's a lifestyle I love and thoroughly enjoy. Back when I was a teenager I would never have thought that I could get so attached to a job role, but I was so wrong. I have been with my current employer for more than 6-years and I wouldn't change anything for the world. But why? I will tell you that in just a moment. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some truly great men and women. Together, as a collective group, we have all been through some tough and sometimes exhausting projects, but seeing the finished product makes it all worth it. So if you are considering a career as a commercial paint spraying and coating contractor, what can you expect? This brief guide will explain and reveal all, just for you. Early Mornings A lot of our projects are completed in the early hours of the morning, that means extra early starts and a commitment to your on site spraying team. There is simply no time to waste as every project has a deadline, missing deadlines means no pay and no pay means no salary at the end of the month. It is certainly a dog eat dog world in the construction industry and you have to be willing to take the hits on occasions. Not physically, but mentally. Long Days On the odd occasion I have been falling out of my bed at 04:00am to ensure that we are on site ready for 06:00am. Some people just assume that on site coatings are easy. Simpy load the spray painting gun and away you go. Unfortunately, there is a little more to it than that. Our team spends at least an hour preparing the area, ready for the correct protective coating ad spray paint. Failing to do this step correctly can result in project delays and cause the companies reputation to get damaged. CJ Coatings are a national on site paint spraying contractor and have worked with more than 50 separate clients across the country. They cover cladding maintenance and on site repairs.
