Canada ( IPA /'kæn?d?/) is a country occupying most of northern North America, extending from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean. It is the world's second largest country by total area, [2] and shares land borders with the United States to the south and northwest. The land occupied by Canada was inhabited for millennia by various aboriginal people. Beginning in the late 15th century, British and French expeditions explored and later settled the Atlantic coast. France ceded nearly all of its colonies in North America in 1763 after the Seven Years War. In 1867, with the union of three British North American colonies through Confederation, Canada was formed as a federal dominion of four provinces.[4][5][6] This began an accretion of additional provinces and territories and a process of increasing autonomy from the United Kingdom, highlighted by the Statute of Westminster in 1931, and culminating in the Canada Act in 1982 which severed the vestiges of legal dependence on the British parliament. A federation now comprising ten provinces and three territories, Canada is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is a bilingual and multicultural country, with both English and French as official languages at the federal level. Technologically advanced and industrialized, Canada maintains a diversified economy that is heavily reliant upon its abundant natural resources and upon trade—particularly with the United States, with which Canada has had a long and complex relationship. The name Canada most likely comes from a St. Lawrence Iroquoian word kanata, meaning "village" or "settlement". In 1535, inhabitants of the present-day Quebec City region used the word to direct explorer Jacques Cartier toward the village of Stadacona.[7] Cartier used the word 'Canada' to refer to not only that village, but the entire area subject to Donnacona, Chief at Stadacona. By 1545, European books and maps began referring to this region as Canada.[8]

5. Destiny Flips with Free Dating Sites in Canada
August 20, 2008
Like most people, I have to admit, I was always a bit skeptical about free dating sites in canada, and like most people, I am not too proud to admit when I am wrong. Time after time I would mock free dating sites in canada, how could it work, how can people find love over the internet without even meeting? It made no sense to me. Often I would hear reports on the news about how free dating sites in canada are growing in popularity and how effective they are at matching people.
Even my own friends seemed to betray me by joining these “free dating sites in canada” and finding dates.

6. What I Find So Exciting About Free Online Dating
August 20, 2008
I’ve been on free date sites for well over 6 months now, so I can safely consider myself a “free date sites veteran.” I know the drill, I know online etiquette, the fastest ways to turn a search with reasonable results, but most importantly, I know how to break it down on the dance floor. ( once I’m with a date that is ) Anyways, I guess its just natural charisma, but I feel really welcome at free date sites, there’s just a tonne of people to connect with that really sit on the same level as you. Its nice that there’s a place where we can all get together online, and then if we find someone... (read more)

It’s been three months since I attended the PSA conference in the U.K. and the CAPS conference in Canada. And the NSAA conference in Australia is just a few weeks away!
One of the neat things about attending conferences is the chance to share ideas with other experts. And Ghana’s Third Law of The Internet says, “For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert.”
At the CAPS conference, I had the chance to talk at length with Dan Pointer – an expert on book publishing, who also spoke at PSA – about e-book publishing. Dan and I both presented sessions at a special workshop f... (read more)
