Cernobbio is a
comune (municipality) in the
Province of Como in the
Italian region of
Lombardy, located about 40&_160;kilometres (25&_160;mi) north of
Milan and about 2&_160;kilometres (1&_160;mi) northwest of
Como, on the border with Switzerland. As of
31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,031 and an area of 11.7&_160;km².

Cernobbio borders the following municipalities Blevio, Caneggio (Switzerland), Como, Maslianico, Moltrasio, Morbio Superiore (Switzerland), Sagno (Switzerland), Vacallo (Switzerland).
Cernobbio received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on May 24, 2005.
