Christians believe Jesus is the son of God, God having become man and the savior of humanity. Christians, therefore, commonly refer to Jesus as Christ or Messiah.[3] Adherents of the Christian faith, known as Christians,[4] believe that Jesus is the Messiah prophesied in the Hebrew Bible (the part of scripture common to Christianity and Judaism). The foundation of Christian theology is expressed in the early Christian ecumenical creeds, which contain claims predominantly accepted by followers of the Christian faith.[5] These professions state that Jesus suffered, died from crucifixion, was buried, and was resurrected from the dead to open heaven to those who believe in him and trust him for the remission of their sins (salvation).[6] They further maintain that Jesus bodily ascended into heaven where he rules and reigns with God the Father. Most denominations teach that Jesus will return to judge all humans, living and dead, and grant eternal life to his followers. He is considered the model of a virtuous life, and both the revealer and physical incarnation of God.[7] Christians call the message of Jesus Christ the Gospel ("good news") and hence refer to the earliest written accounts of his ministry as gospels. During the Middle Ages, most of the remainder of Europe was Christianized, with Christians also being a (sometimes large) religious minority in the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of India.[13] Following the Age of Discovery, through missionary work and colonization, Christianity spread to the Americas, Australasia, and the rest of the world, therefore Christianity is a major influence in the shaping of Western civilization.

So, for spending time with God, one has to bring out their ‘Sunday best’, their finest clothing in which s/he looks tidy and clean. November 13, 2009
Today's critics that America's Framers were temporal and they wanted a worldly public square. Counting on this defective view of history, in the last few weeks they not only filed a case to stop requests at presidential inaugurations but also to lose the nation's Day of Prayer. Their discussion is effective only if one doesn't know anything about America's history or its Founding Fathers. It's a legal document executed in 1794 ( after the ratification of the first modification ) when Chase was Chief Justice of the state of Maryland. 5. Obama Whitewashes Islam Christianity and Judaism at Fort Hood
November 13, 2009
Yesterday President Barack Hussein Obama spoke at the memorial service at Fort Hood allegedly brought about by the Fort’s Jihadi Shrink Major Nidal Malik Hasan. The country is now gagging on the fact that both the President and the Jihadi shrink share the same name. It appears now that the Fort Hood massacre was masterminded by Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, on direct orders from Allah through Prophet Muhammad according to the plain meaning of the words of the Koran and Hadith.

Are we becoming more Christian than Christ like?????
Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity says Wikipedia. Christianity is the monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth (Christ) is what Wikipedia says about Christianity. The words Christian and Christ have a kind of linear relationship I reckon. But!!! Is this linear relationship becoming increasingly curvy??? Is the difference between Christ and Christian becoming more pronounced??? Or to be more precise, Are we becoming more Christian than Christ like??? is a question that kept coming back to... 9. When Christ Was Born
November 11, 2009
What Homer, Euclid, Herodotus, Hippocrates, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Gutenberg, and Jesus Christ have in common is that they are among the many historical figures documented with uncertain dates of birth. And it is rather ironic that Jesus Christ, probably the biggest name in the list and to whom historians have been basing their timeline for the last two thousand years, continues to have an obscure birth date.
Early Church experts ventured to establish Jesus’ birth as the center of human history, from when the years begin counting progressively as Anno Domini, or “The year of our Lord”; a... (read more)

The present has brought with it a lot of new things, knowledge, information and progress. Because we have gotten used to these things and we have absorbed them better and faster than the air we breathe, we have slowly let go of the old ways and teachings. This is something that has been done since ancient times and it is still done every day in the present.
For instance, during the 12th century, there was a widespread of Christianity happening in the world. Because it was promoted at the same time with the Latin alphabet, other languages started to fade away. This was because people thoug... (read more)

11. What Matters Most in Life
November 10, 2009
What matters most in a persons life? Is it family? Is it your career? Is it financial freedom? Is it what people think of you? Is it your idealistic dreams? What really matters most?
I’ve questioned that a lot this year.. and maybe i’m still struggling with an answer.
Some people i guess would think any one of those are important enough to be the thing that matters most in ones lifetime. Everyday we work hard to achieve something but what are we really trying to strive for? Is it for acceptance when we do a good job? Is it to find the ‘perfect soulmate’? Is it so we can say to oursel... (read more)

November 04, 2009
While we are praying silently, we are going to let go of all the baggage we carry on our shoulders regarding the past and future. When thoughts of the past come up, whether it be who we are, what we have accomplished, what titles we have earned, our childhood, our relatives, our relationships, bad experiences, good experiences - all these thoughts should be let go of the moment you realize that you are distracting yourself from silent prayer by thinking.
Future thoughts should also be relinquished, thinking about what time it is, how much time is left in this silent prayer session, what y... (read more)

13. Silent Prayer: Part 1 - Why Should We Pray Silently?
November 02, 2009
For two hundred years after Christ died, according to historical documents, many different and diverse gospels and ideas permeated Christianity, all competing for acceptance by the fledgling Church that was then organizing. One of these was the Gospels of Thomas.
After 200 AD, Christianity became an organized religion overseen by priests and bishops who took over the doctrines of the Church. They decided which gospels were to be included in the new testament (only a handful that met their criteria) and which were to be destroyed. They rejected all Christian alternate viewpoints as heresy ... (read more)

At times we spend a lot of time worrying about all the things that are going wrong in our lives and in the process we forget to take the time to thank God for all the great things that are going right in our lives. We have so many things to be thankful for and yet we choose to spend much of our time focusing on the negative. 18. Is the Gospel Offensive?
November 01, 2009
From our last Next Level Meeting The Gospel means Good News(1) so why do some people find it offensive? This is the topic that was up for discussion at our last “Next Level” meeting. We talked about a great many things concerning this topic, but for this article I will only talk about three of the things people find offensive. One is that people get offended when the bible tells them that we are born with sin – before we even have our first thought. Another is that God sees sin as sin – no sin is greater than the other. Probably the biggest one is that living a good life and doing go... (read more)

21. Christmas Gifts from Giftswish will make Gift Giving a Fun Thing
October 29, 2009
Christmas Gifts are a tradition which might be as old as Christianity. The custom of giving Christmas Gifts possibly started with the three wise men who gave gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Child Christ. However, the true meaning of gift giving at Christmas is this. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. That whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). Christmas gifts starts with Christmas. The word Christmas means Christ s Mass. 23. When did Obedience Become Legalism?
October 27, 2009
We seem to be living in a time in the present Christian era where people seem to feel that all that matters in Christianity is love and God’s grace, that obedience is simply legalism, and that people do not have to obey Bible commands for salvation (except, of course, for the command to believe in Jesus as the Savior).
Grace is made cheap. Live as you like, call yourself a Christian, and God’s grace will cover you. It is said it is what is in the heart (generally defined as the emotions) that counts. Feelings and emotions are defined as love for God. God’s grace will cover a life of s... (read more)

24. One Nation Under God: Poland and the Catholic Church
October 27, 2009
“From 966 A.D. when the Polish people converted to Christianity, the Catholic Church has been a dominant and unifying force in Poland” (Ediger, 301). This statement couldn’t be more understated. While nearly all democracies currently in existence have a strict division between Church and state, Poland defies this normality and allows the Catholic Church to have a loud say in its government. The continuance of the Catholic Church’s values permeating through the government undermine the majority of the public in Poland and continues to be a problem when considering the lack tolerance o...
