If you examine the historical processes that led to the National Socialist party and Adolf Hitler usurping the democratic process to achieve their goal of gaining control of Germany, you would be astonished by the similarities taking place right now in Palestinian Authority. We all saw these same aggressive fascist tactics evident in Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood.In Gaza the Hamas organization is the most accurate example of this premise. Hamas are successfully emulating Hitler’s strategy for total control. Hitler believed that the NAZI party would have the best chance of reaching its goals by participating and manipulating the democratic process. They were profoundly aware of the varied processes that would need to be dominated to propel them to power. The following comparison will demonstrate the tactics of Hitler with what is proving successful with Hamas in Gaza/Palestine and the possible modus operandi of the radical Islamic groups in the greater Arab world. Every totalitarian knows that to control the masses you must control the way people receive information. The most important goal is not only to control and shape propaganda to their purposes, but to manipulate the emotions of the people. Never before in history was propaganda used on the scale of Hitler’s Germany to control the people under their domination. An aggressive campaign by the NAZI’s resulted in total control of all forms of propaganda including media, religion and all cultural institutions. This coupled with the brutal suppression and elimination of all detractors to the NAZI parties’ agenda led them to unprecedented success in shaping the minds of millions and leading them to oblivion. Hamas has been practicing these same techniques in Gaza and in the west bank. There is no freedom of speech in Gaza. All news that can be controlled is under their direction. There continues to be many reports of foreign journalists and their representatives in Gaza being openly threatened and in a few cases arrested or killed. Any news that comes from Gaza has almost certainly been tainted by this control. Just as insidious is the language of appeasement to the west. Hitler had great success keeping the west in the dark about his plans through blatant lies and manipulating the world through eloquent speeches of peace and disarmament. We see many examples of how the Palestinians use a conceived plan of lies and libel to manipulate the west against Israel. Regrettably the western Media and Politicians respond only to this sensationalism and by the time the truth is exposed the damage has been done. Unfortunately the libels told to their own people are even more sinister and blatant with no independent media to challenge the lies. Hitler knew the necessity to control not only the media but religious institutions as well. In Gaza all religious institutions propagate the ideas of the regime both on TV and in the Mosques. The Palestinian people are constantly barraged by messages of hatred by their esteemed religious leaders. The Nazis too, not only took control of the ‘church’ they shaped it to preach their pagan ideologies and eventually outlawed any other form of religious expression. A blatant program exists today in the Arab world to subjugate non-Muslim religious institutions and their followers. The main tactic used by Hamas just as was practiced in Hitler’s Third Rich was through fear, intimidation and alienating non-believers from the greater society. Ziyad Abu al-Haj, Hamas cleric: “The Jews today are leading the all-encompassing war against Muslims… We, the Muslims, know the nature of Jews the best, because the Holy Quran taught us… it is a cancer that wants to rule the world… The time will come, by Allah’s will, when their property will be destroyed and their children will be exterminated, and no Jew or Zionist will be left on the face of this earth.” In NAZI Germany children were indoctrinated at an early age not only in school but in the Nazi created paramilitary youth movements i.e. the Hitler Youth. Youth movements in Gaza are controlled by Hamas and in which they practice a policy of indoctrinating the youth in ideas of hatred and the ‘death cult’ culture of Martyrdom. This same message is taught in all schools from an early age. On the local Palestinian TV the children’s shows are warped by this same hateful message. The following is a conversation between an 11 year old girl and the host, about the beating death of ‘Farfour’ a Mickey Mouse like character in the Palestinian TV show ‘Tomorrows Pioneers’ “A lot of people in Palestine have died as martyrs, and lots of Palestinians hope to be martyrs,” Saraa said of Farfour’s demise. “This is one of the ends.” Asked if she hoped one day to be a martyr, Saraa instinctively nodded her head. “Of course,” Saraa said. “It’s something to be proud of. Every Palestinian citizen hopes to be a martyr.” The same comparisons can be made in how Hamas has hijacked the economy and cynically uses its social arm to control the population. Funding from powerful allies is also an essential comparison. The way in which Hamas has set up its ‘militia’ arm also deserves some in-depth comparison. But the most insidious comparison between Hamas and the NAZI’s is its choice of the Jew as the common enemy. Hatred of the Jews was central to Hitler’s and now Hamas’s plan for control. History has shown us to this day how governments need a common enemy to justify its existence and focus blame away from their own failings at the same time stealing the freedom of the people. Unfortunately Hamas went further than Hitler in its Charter by declaring that one of its central goals is the total annihilation of the Jewish race. Article 7: “Hamas has been looking forward to implementing Allah’s promise, whatever time it might take. The prophet [Muhammad] said: ‘The time (of Resurrection) will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews; until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: 0 Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him!’” Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Number 6985]
