While growing up during the 1980's, I was captivated by pretty much all the sensational martial arts action heros I saw on TV and in the movies. Seeing that I was born in 1979, the time of Bruce Lee were done and the most celebrated martial artists on the big screen were Steven Seagal, Chuck Norris, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. World record holder Asafa Powell, Americans Jeremy Wariner and Sanya Richards and Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba have all stayed in the running for $1 million at the Van Damme Golden League athletics meet in Brussels.
Powell won the 100-meters in 9.99 seconds, just .07 seconds ahead of American Marcus Brunson.
Wariner, the world and Olympic champion, won the men's 400-meters race in 44.29 seconds. An electrical failure delayed the start of the race by nearly 15 minutes, but Wariner finished 33.01 seconds ahead of Congo's Gary Kikaya anyway.
