Being competitive is normal to us humans. Even animals compete with each other for different reasons. It may either be related to food, territory or simply finding a mate. But for us humans, we are pushed to compete due to more complex reasons. We are often compelled to contend with each other simply because we want to feel superior over them. This is normal for us because we are a more intellectual kind as compared to crawling beasts. However, both of us strive only for one thing, and that is success over the other regardless of the way we do it. But there is always a risk in failure when competing. Sadly, not everyone is prepared for such disappointment. There are people who just love to make up reasons just to make themselves believe that they did not lose. Which is then used to fuel their rage and take revenge over their opponents regardless of what way they do it. Sadly, most of these cases often lead to crime and violence. But there also people who treats their failures as a sign for the need of improvement. In fact, they are delighted in failing for they will realize that they are not alone in the field they are excelling. It will also serve as a chance for them to study the strategies and techniques used against them. So that they will know how to counter act it and use the same tactics for their own benefit. Defeat comes from all kinds of situations, losing our social stature is one of them. People who are close to us are usually the ones we often compare our social status. We often compare our monetary income to our classmates, officemates and even relatives. For some, earning money is much more important than having a happy life, which I believe does not make any sense at all. Because money simply cannot buy genuine happiness contrary to what others think. While others still competes in a more healthy way such competing in sports.
