Jesus of Nazareth ( c 4 BC/ BCE – c 30 AD/ CE) [1]—also known as Jesus Christ or occasionally Jesus the Christ—is the central figure of Christianity. Within most Christian denominations Jesus is venerated as the Son of God and as God incarnate. Christians also view him as the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament; however, Judaism rejects these claims. Islam considers Jesus a prophet and also the Messiah [4] while several other religions revere him in some way. The principal sources of information regarding Jesus' life and teachings are the four canonical gospels, especially the Synoptic Gospels,[5][6] though some scholars argue that other texts (such as the Gospel of Thomas) are as relevant as the canonical gospels to the historical Jesus.[7] Most critical scholars in the fields of history and biblical studies believe that some parts of the New Testament are useful for reconstructing Jesus' life,[8][9][10][11] agreeing that he was a Jew who was regarded as a teacher and healer. They also generally accept that he was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman Prefect of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, on the charge of sedition against the Roman Empire.[12][13][14][15][16][17][18] Aside from these few conclusions, academic studies remain inconclusive about the chronology, the central message of Jesus' preaching, his social class, cultural environment, and religious orientation.[7] Scholars offer competing descriptions of Jesus as the awaited Messiah,[19] as a self-described Messiah, as the leader of an apocalyptic movement, as an itinerant sage, as a charismatic healer, and as the founder of an independent religious movement. In Islam, Jesus (Arabic ?????, commonly transliterated as Isa) is considered one of God's important prophets,[22][23] a bringer of scripture, and a worker of miracles. Jesus is also called "Messiah", but Islam does not teach that he was divine. Islam teaches that Jesus ascended bodily to heaven without experiencing the crucifixion and resurrection,[24] rather than the traditional Christian belief of the death and resurrection of Jesus. "Jesus" (pronounced /'d?i?z?s/) is a transliteration, occurring in a number of languages and based on the Latin Iesus, of the Greek ??s??? (Iesoûs), itself a Hellenisation of the Hebrew ????? (Yehoshua) or Hebrew-Aramaic ???? (Yeshua, Joshua), meaning "YHWH rescues" or "YHWH delivers".[25] "Christ" (pronounced /'kra?st/) is a title derived from the Greek ???st?? (Christós), meaning the "Anointed One", a translation of the Hebrew ???????? (Messiah).[26] A "Messiah" is a king anointed at God's direction or with God's approval, and Christians identify Jesus as the one foretold by Hebrew prophets.

1. Transsexual Jesus sparks protests
November 06, 2009
“Jesus Queen of Heaven”, a play by and starring transsexual Jo Clifford began its five night run embroiled in controversy this week. Its short run at Glasgay! – an arts festival which celebrates Scotland’s gay, bi-sexual and transsexual culture – has upset Scottish Christians who have branded the depiction of Christ as a transsexual ‘totally blasphemous’. Brandishing placards saying “Jesus, king of kings, not queen of heaven” and “God: My son is not a pervert” around 300 protesters picketed on Tuesday outside the Tron theatre where the play is currently being staged. 2. We must all be missionaries and help spread the Word of God
November 05, 2009
When we think about spreading the word of God it is easy to be stuck imagining the great 19th century missionaries who went out around the world and risked their lives to tell peoples about the Lord. Cannibals and wild animals rage in the popular imagination when missionaries are mentioned. This isn't for me, we are inclined to think. It can even seem that the world has changed, that everyone knows about Jesus already, that our work is merely to live a Christian life and nothing more. But we are still called to spread the word of God. Many people in many countries have even in the 21st c... (read more)

3. THE COMING BACK OF GOD by Rodney Howard Browne
November 05, 2009
Marie and I were enjoying a quiet evening at home. The house was weirdly still, and we were sitting there slurping freshly perked coffee and having a quiet conversation. It's biblical ; it is the exact thing Titus 2:13 claims,'looking for the sanctified hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.'. You can not read highly far without stumbling on it, whatever book you choose. In the New Testament alone the events related to Christ's coming are discussed over three hundred times. But what does one do in the meantime?' I hear all pragmatists asking. Firs... (read more)

November 05, 2009
Each year Christmas comes to show us the way to peace. Peace in our lives and peace within. There is a great feeling of goodwill and love that envelopes the earth. How can we continue to express this love all throughout the year?
Jesus came to earth, as others did before Him, to set the pattern for perfected men and women. His life was an example to follow. The keynote of His time here was Love. He always showed each one He touched a blessing from His heart.
Ancient and modern religion has classified Him as the "only begotten Son of God." Begotten means "becoming." They set Him up as... (read more)

5. Christmas - The Birth of the Christ Consciousness Within
November 05, 2009
The Christ is not just one person. The Christ is an "office" or "position" we ALL attain to. The word Christ means, "the anointed one." Jesus came to show us the way to be a vessel for the Love of God to manifest.
When the Christ Spirit entered Jesus he had perfected His soul in many lifetimes to be a worthy temple for Love incarnate. Edgar Cayce said that Jesus was Adam. In the "fall" was the promise of full redemption.
The Christ Consciousness is part of the Trinity, known by different names in many religions. The Father is the Will and Power of God, the Son or Daughter, the Christ... (read more)

6. The True Manger of Christmas
November 03, 2009
He is born of a virgin mother, the immaculate conception. He is a holy gift from God, chosen to have a divine feminine being as His mother, who eventually becomes the Queen of the Angels. Mother Mary, also known as Eve and Isis, shares Her brilliant light and love with the world to this day.
The drama of Jesus birth and death is symbolic of the path of a Christed soul. Edgar Cayce said that Jesus was Adam and Mary Eve. In their "fall" from grace in the Garden of Eden, was their promise to fulfill their sublime destiny as Christed souls.
These steps, from the immaculate birth to the f... (read more)

Lotto nonsense? By Mike L Anderson
I think it was at a church fete. I was around 12 years old. The game was darts. The board had red, green and white stripes. You could double your money if you landed on the correct stripe. I do not remember the bets. I do remember winning and winning big - for a kid, then. I began with c... (read more)

If any man be in Christ, he is a new Creation and old things are passed away. Behold, all things are new and all things are of God. For God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself. We've been given a new chance at life, a new identity, so that we can live a full abundant life.God want us to be bless more than we want to be bless. 11. A Fresh Start: A New Beginning
October 26, 2009
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17(NIV). If the old were needful, important or relevant God would not have bothered about bringing something new. The truth is this old was never meant to be. It was never God’s intended purpose. It was not in the original plan. It was only permitted for a reason. The new is what God’s original intended purpose was. It remained in place till Adam gave in to the devil’s temptation opening the door for the old to operate in our lives. It is called the old because many, excep... (read more)

12. WHY DID JESUS COME?
October 26, 2009
John 10:10 says that Christ came to give us life and life to the full. What is this life? It is the life that can be lived only through the righteousness which God gives. It is righteousness that is by faith. In Romans 1:16-17 Paul the apostle said, ‘I am not ashamed of gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jews, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”’- (NIV). It is the life t... 13. Living by the Spirit of God
October 26, 2009
‘So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.’- Zech.4:6(NIV). God wants us to live by His Spirit. ‘So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 14. BORN TO DIE
October 26, 2009
You may want to give this a moment’s thought: everyone is born to live but only Jesus Christ was born to die. It was God’s will for Him. And that was because of you and me. ‘We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all….Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.’ - Isaiah 53:6 and 10(NIV). ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and... 15. The Beauty of Jesus
October 26, 2009
Just some hours before his death on the cross Jesus prayed to the Father, ‘And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.’- John 17:5(NIV). The book of Philippians 2:6 talks about Christ Jesus ‘Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,’ (NIV). And Col. 2:9 says, ‘… in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,’ (NIV). In talking about the beauty of Jesus we must understand that Christ and God are of the same essence, that they are one. All the gospels testify to this fact, especi... (read more)

October 26, 2009
As physical and psychological health issues of the American population seem to be a trending topic in the media, there are some simple spiritual suggestions by a particular religion that have withstood the test of time; and lately, scientists and dieticians seem to be agreeing. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as LDS or Mormon) religion live a strict set of standards that result in a lower risk for cancer, heart failure, and stroke. This in turn means they have a higher chance of living a longer, healthier life.

17. Holding the Hands Tightly by Rodney Howard Browne
October 26, 2009
Each of our kids grew to become a self-sustaining, responsible servant of Jesus Christ, in their own way. A couple of you reading these words did not release your youngsters in this manner. Perhaps you have lost your youngster thru death, a hideous crime, divorce, or another ugly crisis. God did not find pleasure in making you endure such grief. Yes, as with Job, he permitted it, but he is's not the writer of malevolent. He detests it such a lot that He sent His Boy to wreck death by dying and rising again. 18. Take the Truth or Take the Consequences
October 22, 2009
Some people say, "it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you are sincere." Have you heard that? Maybe, once, you believed that.... It is a philosophy that won't go away. But, do you know, sincerity does not make something true. For example, if a nurse gave medicine (the wrong medicine, by mistake) to a patient, and that patient died as a result, it doesn't matter one bit that the nurse sincerely believed the medicine was the correct one, it still didn't stop the patient dying! If I'm driving to London, but take the wrong road, and end up in Manchester -- I mi... (read more)

19. Personal Happiness and the Bible
October 21, 2009
Before I became a Christian, my refuge was song writing. As my personal circumstances became more intense, my “Songs Notebook” still had lyrics and ideas, but it became more like ... a diary. It was active into my early Christian months. Years later, leafing through it, I found references to a feeling that plagued me as I awoke to my pre-Christian day. It was a feeling of dread - a deep dread. It was a mixture of frustration, purposelessness, fear and hopelessness. It was sickening. I called it, “that rock gut feeling.”
Recently, a reader asked me to consider writing an article, “P... (read more)

22. The Christian Mission
October 19, 2009
Nearly two thousand years ago, one hundred and twenty disciples dared to obey the words of our savior. They secluded themselves in a second story room to receive the promise of an everlasting covenant, as the power of the Holy Ghost descended upon those hungry for something they never had before. They felt the pressing. They knew something great was on the way and with their obedience to fast and pray, the Church was birthed as a mighty rushing wind overtook them and tongues of fire fell upon each one. The wind propelled the disciples gathered together in the upper room into the str... (read more)

23. Covenant Relationship
October 12, 2009
Since the beginning of time, God established covenants and imparted anointing with his choicest of servants. Throughout the Bible and recorded history, great men and women have shared in the covenant of faith to impose change in their generation. We live in a time when a person's word means seemingly nothing. Marriages are dissolved daily with no regard to the vows of "to death do us part" and our courts are flooded with lawsuits. But it has not always been this way. In biblical times, a covenant, sealed in blood, was a promise of enduring responsibility never entered into lightly and... (read more)

October 09, 2009
The most popular religion in the world is Christianity. There are more than 2 billion followers of this religion all over the world. Christians believe that Jesus was the Messiah as was promised in the Old Testament. They also believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was sent by God himself to the earth to save humanity from undergoing the consequences of its sins. The most important concept of Christianity is that of Jesus giving up his life on the Cross (Crucifixion as is known) and then again rising from the dead after the third day, which is also known as the Resurrection.
