Link Building Truth - Why Building quality Back Links To your Websites And Blogs will Always Be A G

Link Popularity,Web Traffic,Website Promotion
The SEO and internet marketing forums have been buzzing a lot lately about link building. Considering the constant updates to search algorithms, many can’t help but question whether or not it’s still a good idea to actively build relevant back links to their blogs and websites.

This article will provide a definitive answer to that question. To begin, the short answer is yes, it’s still productive to create quality back links. No matter what changes the search engines make, it’ll always be a great idea. Now let’s expand on why this is so.

Reason 1 – Figuring out search results

The primary purpose of search engines like Google, yahoo and Bing is to give the user the best and most relevant information in response to their search. This, by the way, is one reason why article publishing is still very effective. This is because articles such as this one you’re reading now gives long-form and educational answers to many common questions.

One important thing that back links do is let the search engines know that your website or blog has some level of authority associated with it. It’s like that old saying, “show me who your friends are, and I’ll show you who you are.” If many other authoritative websites are linked to yours, then it illustrates that your content carries value to others and therefore will be valuable to the one doing a search.

This is more effective if the internet locations that are linked to yours are on your page rank level and above. It’s better to be the little fish in a big pond than the other way around. Remember, the most valuable links are those from websites that are in some way related to yours.

Reason 2 – The Human Component

If the three main search engines announced today that they will no longer look at links for rankings or search results, building links would still be a good idea. Why is this? The answer is simple. There will always be a human component. And this is arguably the most important factor. After all, we are trying to get humans to our sites, right?

The greater the number of links that you have out there in the cyber-ocean, the better. When a link to your website appears on other websites, blogs, YouTube, social networks and emails, to name a few places, the higher the probability is that a person will click that link and visit you. In the end, this is what we’re all after.

A straight-forward example:

We’ll now examine a simple and straight-forward example to show why back linking is so important. Let’s suppose that we have 2 cooking websites. Both sites have the same number of pages, the same essential content and the same level of on-site SEO. In virtually every way these two websites are exactly the same.

This being said, how will Google determine which appears first in the search results? All things being equal, links will have to be factored in. So, if site A has little or no back links pointing at it and site B has 100 back links associated with it, the search engine will most likely assign greater importance to site B.

It’s really that simple. More than ever before, a website’s social impact is being examined by search engines for rankings and search results. This does not simply refer to whether or not you appear on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, FourSquare, Pinterest, GooglePlus and so on. Where you show up on the rest of the internet is also considered and will probably always be so.

One last note before we close. When creating back links, do so organically. If there is any one factor that counts heavily now in internet marketing, website design and SEO, it’s organic activity. This means stay away from those automated one-click applications that promise they will do all your work for you. This will not only do you little good, it could actually hurt your standings. If your blog has five-hundred other websites linking to it, but none of them is even closely related to what yours is about, the search engines will ignore these links completely.

Never stop building back links to your websites. It can be some work and takes some time, but the long term benefits are more than worth the trouble. Exchange quality links when you are able, make sure they are relevant and keyword rich and you will see very positive results.
