1. Latest Developments Which Could Make All The Difference In Getting Help For ADHD
November 30, 2011
The latest exciting developments in neuroimaging for ADHD may offer us further insight into getting help for ADHD. First of all, these studies show that this disorder is definitely a neurological condition which manifests itself with behavioural problems. Science allows us explore those neural areas of the brain which control various types of behaviors.
This is in marked contrast to over a hundred years ago when very little was known about this condition. We know that in 1902 it was referred to as a Defect of Moral Control which later was called (less moralistically) Minimal Brain Damag... (read more)

2. Less Empathy Toward Outsiders: Brain Differences Reinforce Preferences For Those In Same Social Gro
June 30, 2011
The study shows that perceiving others in pain activates a part of the brain associated with empathy and Rosetta Stone V3 emotion more if the observer and the observed are the same race. The findings may show that unconscious prejudices against outside groups exist at a basic level. The study confirms an in-group bias in empathic feelings, something that has long been known but never before confirmed by neuroimaging technology. Researchers have explored group bias since the 1950s. In some studies, even people with similar backgrounds arbitrarily assigned to different groups preferred member... (read more)

3. Shocking Statistics of Back Pain Surgery
June 06, 2011
Back pain is common. In fact, the vast majority of people at some point in their lives suffer from back or neck pain. According to a 1998 report by the Journal of Neuroimaging, more than 26 million Americans between the ages of 20-64 experience frequent back pain, making back pain the second most common reason for seeing a doctor.
In some cases the cause is minor, perhaps just a strained muscle, and the pain goes away on its own in relative short time. Even in more serious conditions, a herniated disc for example, the pain can and often will go away on its own, given the proper care and... (read more)

Out of 55 sites throughout the U.S. and Canada, The Wien Center is one of only three sites in Florida - and the only center in Miami-Dade and Broward counties - to be selected to enter the second phase of the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), a study that seeks to define changes that m... 5. Exploring Awake Brain Surgery
November 16, 2010
Results of a QEEG are compared with a data bank of many hundreds of brain mapping outcomes coming from people with no brain irregularities. Any kind of deviation from this "normative database" is subsequently scored on a scale of -3 to 3 and is color coded for easy detection on the brain map.Any and all forms of neuroimaging can be seen as a part of "brain mapping." The concept as a whole began as what many saw as a higher form of neuroimaging. The "brain map" as a combination of brain images and additional non-imaging results/additional imaging. Non-image results are drawn from data processin... (read more)

6. Mind Mapping
November 16, 2010
The QEEG is but a single part of an overall assessment of brain activity and framework. By itself, a QEEG doesn't describe emotional problems in real terms. , A QEEG is precise at locating and identifying trouble areas but cannot differentiate how serious a difficulty might be.Any and all forms of neuroimaging can be seen as a part of "brain mapping." The concept as a whole began as what many saw as a higher form of neuroimaging. The "brain map" as a combination of brain images and additional non-imaging results/additional imaging. Non-image results are drawn from data processing/analysis that... (read more)
