Amsterdam is overall a very pleasant city to visit. The local people are very friendly and welcoming. You will rarely get into any trouble. But, as anywhere else, traveling in a new city, you might be unsure about its laws and norms. It’s a good to keep them in mind as you don’t want to end up paying a hefty fine.
