What is the catch in an event like this? Only that to receive a gift a user needs to first register as a member of the giveaway, then they need to opt into the newsletter of each merchant from whom they wish to download a gift.
Giveaways were designed as a marketing tactic, says Carolyn. Every online health and fitness vendor knows that it is to their benefit to grow their list of prospects to whom they can sell. But finding new prospects is not easy, and it actually gets harder every day. By running these collaborative events, vendors get the chance to accumulate prospects they might otherwise never have been able to interact with.
The benefit to members who opt into the vendor subscriber lists is also quite apparent. Carolyn estimates that her event will host health and fitness related products and services with a combined value that reaches in the thousands of dollars. Members can elect to download as many of these gifts as they wish.
Vendors who think they might like to participate in Carolyn's event, which launches to the public on November 13, will be pleased to know that there is no cost involved in joining up as a contributor. However, contributors are permitted to submit one gift only, so as to ensure a degree of competitiveness that promotes quality in the event. However smart contributors who have participated in these events know that there will likely be an upgrade option to allow the submission of one or two more gifts than the free option permits.
In addition to the prizes she is offering for the giveaway, as an extra incentive to stack her event with gifts from happy contributors Carolyn says she is also employing the services of a quality copywriter to ensure that her pages generate the maximum conversion for the one-time-offer that members will be presented with when they sign up.
These OTO's, as they are called, sometimes annoy members who expect to immediately be able to see their free gifts when they login. But the OTO works strongly in favor of the contributor, who is able to earn a sizeable commission from sales made to the members that they have referred to the event. With an excellent sales letter in place, says Carolyn, not only will the contributors see a higher return in my events, but the members will also be seeing an offer that should really excite them. I know for a fact that it tickled me pink when I first got a look at it.
