Organic chemistry is a discipline within chemistry which involves the scientific study of the structure, properties, composition, reactions, and preparation (by synthesis or by other means) of chemical compounds that contain carbon. These compounds may contain any number of other elements, including hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, the halogens as well as phosphorus, silicon and sulfur. [1][2][3]Because of their unique properties, multi-carbon compounds exhibit extremely large variety and the range of application of organic compounds is enormous. They form the basis of, or are important constituents of many products (paints, plastics, food, explosives, drugs, petrochemicals, to name but a few) and (apart from a very few exceptions) they form the basis of all earthly life processes. Current (as of 2008) trends in organic chemistry include chiral synthesis, green chemistry, microwave chemistry, fullerenes and microwave spectroscopy. At the very beginning of the nineteenth century chemists generally thought that compounds from living organisms were too complicated in structure to be capable of artificial synthesis from non-living things, and that a 'vital force' or vitalism conferred the characteristics of living beings on this form of matter. They named these compounds 'organic', and preferred to direct their investigations toward inorganic materials that seemed more promising.

If you are wondering what is DAT, then you are in the wrong place. Otherwise, read on to find out a powerful way to rapidly re-learn organic chemistry.
If you have been away from organic chemistry for more than 12 months, you need more than a simple review. You must re-learn all required topics by OAT.
Again, re-learn not review. But now?
Two words: “Rapid Learning”.
What exactly is rapid learning? It is the integration of rich media and smart teaching.
Organic chemistry is mainly the study of one element – carbon. Because of the diversified valence, there are millions... (read more)

8. Seanol--An Incredibly Potent Anti Oxidant Discovery
September 02, 2009
Most people have never heard of the antioxidant Seanol. First, what are anti oxidants? They are organic substances that have spare electrons to give to hungry free radicals that need them. Diet, environment and body chemistry can produce a lot of free radicals with oxidative damage that needs to be neutralized. An inorganic example of oxidation is iron rusting.
Free radicals are believed to be the most damaging substances known to produce every single degenerative disease. They cause inflammation and disruption of essential organic chemicals, stealing electrons…if antioxidants are insu... (read more)

9. HOW TO WRITE A CUSTOMIZED DISSERTATION OF CHEMISTRY?
July 21, 2009
To write a customized chemistry dissertation, it is essential to have better understandings of the field of chemistry The word “chemistry” is derived from an Egyptian word “keme”, which means Earth. Chemistry in its origin is a science that predicts and studies matter’s structure, composition, properties, and the undergone changes during chemical reactions of matter.
The discipline of chemistry varies and depends on the type and group of matter being studied. The major disciplines of chemistry are: • Inorganic • Organic • Biochemistry • Physical chemistry • Analytical chemistry •... (read more)
