An oven is an enclosed compartment for heating, baking or drying. It is most commonly used in cooking and pottery. Ovens used in pottery are also known as kilns. An oven used for heating or for industrial processes is called a furnace or industrial oven. Settlements across the Indus Valley Civilization were the first to have an oven within each mud-brick house by 3200 BC.[1][2] Culinary historians credit the Greeks for developing bread baking into an art. Front-loaded bread ovens were developed in ancient Greece. The Greeks created a wide variety of doughs, loaf shapes and styles of serving bread with other foods. Baking developed as a trade and profession as bread increasingly was prepared outside of the family home by specially trained workers to be sold to the public. This is one of the oldest forms of professional food processing. The Greeks also pioneered sweet breads, fritters, puddings, cheesecakes, pastries, and even wedding cakes. Often prepared in symbolic shapes, these products were originally served during special occasions and ceremonies. By 300 AD the Greeks had developed over seventy different kinds of bread.

November 03, 2009
Carlos closed his eyes and could see them as if he were sitting in their kitchens. He watched with anticipation as they patted the tortillas between their experienced hands. He could already smell and taste those wonderful corn patties as they cooked on the outdoor clay oven. As they cooked, their voices blended together in his memory as he heard lively tales of Mexico’s and family heroes.
He didn’t know which was better – eating his grandmothers’ spicy, flavorful meals and their handmade tortillas, or listening to their colorful stories. Both fed, nurtured and satisfied him.

October 29, 2009
Due to insanely limited development time, movie-based titles are usually bombs. The key to success then is either lengthening the time in the oven, or cutting the development overheads by producing for a single platform, such as Golden Eye on the N64.
Developers Eurocom made the right choice by building the title as a platformer that varies as you take charge of six different characters from the movie. Running and jumping your way around a 3D world with Sid, or making your way from left to right with Scrat in 2D, blends well with the game mechanic.
