[2]In Mexico and the western Caribbean, about 75% of their revenues come from alcoholic beverage sales. In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, however, they've been unable to promote drinking as successfully; food outsells liquor there by a slight margin.[3]
Promotions like drinking contests and a novelty take-home yard of beer glass[4] bring the chain $33 per check, 50% more than the Hard Rock Cafe achieves. They further promote alcohol sales with an "anything goes" atmosphere; one of their theme parties was a pajama party, with guests swimming in a pool filled with beer.[1]
Their Caribbean stores take in an average of $5 million annually.[2] The company, however, projects first year revenues for Myrtle Beach of $8 million, with $12 million annually from the Honolulu, Hawaii bar to open July 2007 and $20 million from a Las Vegas, Nevada location to open in 2007.[1]
