A seed ( /'si?d/ (help·info)), referred to as a kernel in some plants, is a small embryonic plant enclosed in a covering called the seed coat, usually with some stored food. It is the product of the ripened ovule of gymnosperm and angiosperm plants which occurs after fertilization and some growth within the mother plant. The formation of the seed completes the process of reproduction in seed plants (started with the development of flowers and pollination), with the embryo developed from the zygote and the seed coat from the integuments of the ovule. Seeds have been an important development in the reproduction and spread of flowering plants, relative to more primitive plants like mosses, ferns and liverworts, which do not have seeds and use other means to propagate themselves. This can be seen by the success of seed plants (both gymnosperms and angiosperms) in dominating biological niches on land, from forests to grasslands both in hot and cold climates. The term seed also has a general meaning that predates the above — anything that can be sown i.e. "seed" potatoes, "seeds" of corn or sunflower "seeds". In the case of sunflower and corn "seeds", what is sown is the seed enclosed in a shell or hull, and the potato is a tuber. A typical seed includes three basic parts (1) an embryo, (2) a supply of nutrients for the embryo, and (3) a seed coat.

1. Why Use Flax Seed Oil When You Get Many More Health Benefits From Fish Oil?
November 05, 2009
Although flax seed oil is a good source of omega 3's, it does not provide the range and quality of benefits you get from the best fish oils. This is down to the type of fatty acid it contains. So unless you're vegetarian, here are the reasons why you should avoid it in favour of fish oils.
Flax seed oil contains ALA fatty acids and while fairly effective they are no match for the power of the two mains ones, DHA and EPA.
ALA is very rarely, if ever converted into the two main ones making it much less useful. Many manufacturers argue that it is often converted but recent studies show ... (read more)

2. Why Settle For The Flax Seed Oil Benefits When You Get So Much More From Fish Oil?
November 05, 2009
The flax seed oil benefits pale in comparison with the sheer amount and quality of benefits from the best fish oils. The reason for this is down to the type of omega 3 that flax oil contains.
Alpha-Linolenic Acid or ALA is what gives the flax seed oil benefits and while good for the heart and cholesterol, they work differently in the body, produce much more limited benefits and are rarely, if ever, converted into the two main omega 3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA.
Of these two acids, the best source of which is fish oil, DHA is largely responsible for most of the benefits including preven... (read more)

November 05, 2009
There is a renewed interest today in organic flax seed oil as the many benefits of omega 3 come to light and are more publicized than ever. So is this a good source?
The answer is both yes and no!
Organic flax seed oil is rich in omega 3 and carries many benefits but is nowhere near as effective as the fatty acids you get from fatty fish so unless you are vegetarian, fish oils are much better. Let me explain why.
Flax seed will give you a short chained fatty acid known as ALA which affect the body in a different way to the other ones and has proven to be far less effective espec... (read more)

10. Sunless Tanning Guide: Makeover and Beauty Tips
November 01, 2009
Here’s how to use tanning products and why tanning products work:
1.) Use Refractive Oils:
Magnification is simply the multiplying of the ultraviolet light reaching your skin. Tanning products provide a refractive prism via Aloe Vera gel and natural oils such as Hemp seed oil, Sunflower oil, and other essential oils to intensify the ultraviolet light reaching your skin. Tanners not using a tanning product will not receive the extra magnification, thus obtaining lesser tanning results.
2.) Moisturize Your Skin:

The buyer arrives at his preferred choice by one of several methods. But once such decisions are made, they are usually irreversible, as with most product loyalty. 18. Illegal to Destroy Paper Money - But Legal to Destroy Marijuana Money
October 27, 2009
The haul: 150-200,000 plants, up to two-and-one-half tons of marijuana, sling-baled and lifted out by helicopter, 4-600 pounds per load. Plants range from knee-high to chest-high. All are bushy; typical, agents say, of Mexican-grown marijuana. Jordan places the street value at well more than $100 million. The cost of this entire operation to seize $100 million dollars in marijuana, one can only fathom. Officers think they are actually serving and protecting the community in these situations but they are only adding to the black market economy, rather than our own.

You cannot plant a supposed “bonsai seed” and expect to grow a masterpiece bonsai. At most, you will get a tree in a pot, which is the equivalent of the literal translation of the Japanese term “bonsai”. Furthermore, a simple stick in a pot will not pay much homage to the long refined Japanese art that is bonsai. Like many art forms, rules of design exist.
