Tad Christensen was born and raised in New York City but he always dreamed of moving into the country. As a little boy he was interested in cowboy movies and horses, and he made a promise to himself that one day he would be able to leave behind the busy streets of the city and start a brand new life in the country. He worked through high school and saved up his money in order to buy a car of his very own. The day after he graduated from high school, Tad loaded up his luggage in the back of his car and made the very long and exhausting ride from New York to Texas all alone, leaving behind his loving family to follow his dreams. It took many years of hard work and a lot of saving in order for Tad Christensen to earn enough to purchase the land that he still owns today.
This beautiful stretch of land in the southern part of Texas has been the place that Tad and his family has called home for more than 40 years. Tad, his wife and their two sons live, work and play at the horse ranch where they host parties and have group visits from the area schools allowing children to learn more about life on a ranch. While the land itself is a beautiful sight to see, Tad Christensen’s prized possession at his ranch would have to be his 11 American Paint Horses. There are many other breeds that call the ranch home including a couple of Clydesdales, several Palmettos and five Black Stallions, but after raising hundreds of horses and working with dozens of different breeds over the years, Tad’s favorite would have to be the American Paint Horses. He isn’t sure if it is the paint-like patterns of their coat or their mild temperament that makes them his favorite, but ask anyone that knows Tad personally and they will tell you that he truly loves these peaceful and majestic animals.
Tad Christensen now dedicates all of his spare time to educating others about the American Paint Horse as well as other breeds that he has had the pleasure to work with over the years. If you are new to raising horses and would like to learn more about a specific breed, Tad is the right person to call. He has helped many new horse owner in the southern Texas area to learn all there is to know about raising prize winning horses and takes pride in the fact that he is able to help future generations care for these fantastic animals.
Tad Christensen is one of the most amazing individuals that you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. He is a family man, friendly, kind, honest and hard working. Everyone who he comes in contact with gets a quick education of what it’s like to be around some of the best horse breeds in the nation.
