1. Mom's Favorite All in one Recipes
March 05, 2010
Mom's Favorite Recipes My Mom and Grandma were great cooks. They cooked all kinds of great dishes for their families. Many of the recipes they used were handed down from other family members and some came from old cookbooks. When I would ask for one of the recipes that I remembered from my childhood, many times my Mom would reach in a kitchen drawer and pull out an old piece of yellowed paper that she had written the recipe on many years ago. I decided that these recipes needed to be preserved for my children and theirs. I typed up all the recipes on my computer and when I was done I thought..... (read more)

February 16, 2010
Why Gluten Free Pasta is an Important Part of a Gluten Free Diet. Most people think of Italy as the birthplace of pasta. However history traces the origin of this food back to 1700 B.C. when the Chinese came up with a noodle made from rice flour. The Italians were instrumental in the evolution of pasta as we know it. In 400 B.C. the Etruscans, who come from the western part of Italy, made a noodle similar to lasagna. The Romans are credited with making a noodle similar to the one made by the Etruscans, out of flour and water. These noodles were prepared by baking dough in the oven. Boil... (read more)

10. 30 Minute Meals - Lifesavers!
October 12, 2009
30 minute meals have to be a life-saver on most days. Some of the meals we make take 30 minutes from the start of preparation to the finished meal. Beef Stroganoff, for example, is quick to prepare, and offers a sumptuous feast. Thai Beef Salad is another innovative, but easy meal. Other meals might take 30 minutes if you have part of the meal prepared ahead - for example, leftover chicken or a batch of Tomato Sauce in the freezer. Chicken Parmesan, Chickpea Curry or Spaghetti Bolognese could be whipped up in under 20 minutes if you had a quantity of Tomato Sauce at hand.

You will need to cut the zucchini lengthwise in half. One half can feed one adult or be cut into smaller pieces for children so that will help estimate how many zucchini’s you nee... (read more)

Zucchini Time Is Here! There has been an abundant amount of zucchini coming into my kitchen this summer and I have found many things to do with it. 20. Mediterranean Restaurant At The Swissotel Nai Lert Park In Bangkok
July 27, 2009
A Mediterranean restaurant in Bangkok is not a common sight but there are a few and the best one may be La Dolce Vita at Ma Maison. This restaurant has an interesting pedigree, starting out in the early 90s as a high-end French restaurant that for years was considered one of the top two in the city. Its present incarnation draws on that heritage as well as a strong Italian influence – hence the Italian name – to produce a dining spot that serves a mix of cuisines with the common thread being ingredients from Mediterranean countries.

24. Delicious Ahi Tuna Tacos-The Great Italian Cuisine

After completing graduate school in the late 80s, I spent a year studying Law at a University in America. The school cafeteria served many things that one would never encounter in the states (natto spaghetti for example), but one thing they did serve that I couldn't get enough of was seared ahi tuna, prepared fresh to order. It was usually served with white rice, a little shoyu, some radish sprouts, a few slivers of nori, and some toasted sesame seeds. 25. Authenticly Italian: How to Spot It
June 09, 2009
Spaghetti: a simple Italian-American staple. Also, probably the first image that comes to your mind when you hear “Italian food.” For some, pasta and spicy meatballs may be the extent of their knowledge of cuisine from the Mediterranean nation. Frankly, it’s easy to oversimplify traditional courses when you’re in the melting pot of the world. But what then is authentic Italian food? For starters, Italians don’t eat pasta all day. No spaghetti in the cereal bowl, thank you. Breakfast is typically a cold meal; most start out with espresso and a pastry, both available from eateries at the local ... (read more)
