Since their initial time in the Major League Baseball association, the Philadelphia Phillies have seen a lot of trials and managed to come out well, even if not on top. They are something of underdogs in the MLB, but they have fought hard to earn their place in championship games. In two of their toughest battles, they played the Braves and the Blue Jays for the world series. Even though they've seen many players come and go, they've stayed at about the same level. Their jerseys bear the colors of the US flag. In addition to Joe Carter and Roy Halladay, the team has seen a lot of really good players over the years. Halladay recently assisted the team in a great win against the Marlins - in May of 2010. Halladay pitched a totally perfect game during this time. The team has been able to acquire MVP awards and players over the years as well including one for player Cole Hamels. The team has a marker showcasing their former playing field, Veterans Stadium. Even though the team cannot really be considered a top MLB team, it is still fairly successful. While the Phillies have often played against more skilled teams, they have still made it to the world series more than a few times. In addition, they have a rivalry with the Mets that has persisted for a long time, and which has been a way for the two teams to compete in a fun way, with good sportsmanship - and a way to stir up their fans. While the Philadelphia Phillies are an old team, they have been around more than 50 years. They have seen a lot of pennant victories and play well even under tiring conditions. Even if they haven't made it to the top heights of MLB success, they have found a lot of star players over the years, a lot of whom have ended up on other teams. Indeed, no team can be solely gaged by how many games it has won - and this team is no different. The Phillies have stayed true to their home spirit by persisting through several stadium changes and the changes of their team coaches, something that is always tough for a team to endure. The Phillies have really proven themselves capable of playing good games over several years. They haven't been able to make it to the top of the MLB rankings for their division but they have still been a good team for all their years. They will continue to build fans, and many of their fans are loyal to the Phillies alone. It isn't possible to say the Phillies have done anything other than root themselves in the MLB's permanent records because of their dedication to being a good team even under tough times. They have had to deal with a lot of changes. They will still have many fans over the years, their base continuing to build. While some of the team's fans have clamored about their jerseys, they are currently sticking to the design they have now. Time will tell whether or not this design stays popular with the team. The design of their jerseys is a largely individual thing so it is hard to say how much it will change in the coming years.
