Oct 27, 2010 -- The top-ranked party schools boast decades of debauchees at the helm and are basically untouchable. A new short film about the DEA's recent San Diego State (SDSU) drug bust, the conclusion of a sting operation that resulted in almost 100 arrests, including students majoring in criminal justice and Homeland Security. The ongoing sting operation that lead to the arrests was a direct response to the death of San Diego State University student Shirley 'Jenny' Poliakoff from an overdose last year. An extended-length version of this short film can be viewed for free @ www.AmericanDrugWar.com. Lets take you back almost three years. The undercover officers started to appear at San Diego State fraternity parties about seven months prior. On a campus of 36,000 students, blending into the crowd was not difficult. Neither was collecting evidence of drug dealing and drug use. One student was just a month away from earning a master's degree in homeland security and had worked with the campus police as a security officer. One allegedly was selling cocaine to high school students. Among the suspected drug dealers is Omar Cuenca, 38, who is not a student and is allegedly connected to a gang in Pacoima that has possible ties to the Mexican Mafia, said Ralph W. Partridge, a special-agent-in-charge for the Drug Enforcement Administration in San Diego. Now the new problem is legal Prescriptions. San Diego State University senior Chris Kershaw first used Adderall two years ago to help cram for a final exam. The economics major doesn't have attention-deficit disorder, which the drug is most commonly prescribed to treat. But Kershaw, like many college students, occasionally buys the drug from friends to help him study. What's more, students appear to be finding more ways of using the stimulants.. Lange has been searching for programs around the country that have proved to reduce prescription drug abuse, but he hasn't found any.. "A good chunk of college drug-prevention programs don't actually do any good," Lange said. "Teaching someone about risks has been tried on a number of levels and it doesn't cause any reduction. Inspirational speakers don't tend to change actual behavior. So we're in a stage that doesn't allow us to quickly say, 'We should be doing this to address the problem.'?" Because Donor money went to SDSU Athletics(Frank Cuenca and the Weber Triangle) funding issues prompted the campus health service center to stop diagnosing attention-deficit disorders about a year and a half ago, which meant the end of providing prescriptions for drugs like Adderall and Ritalin on campus. "We certainly know that some students do use it as a study enhancement, and we're trying to get more information out there that it's not a good thing to do," said Debbie Pino-Saballett, director of health promotions at UCSD. The campus began surveying students about amphetamine use in 2008, when nearly 5 percent of students admitted use. But the real challenge, Halter acknowledged, is reaching students who aren't motivated to change because they are pressured by Jock Sniffer Coaches who bribed them with scholarships. July 25, 2010 --- An extended-length short film on San Diego State (SDSU ) Drugs Busts . These drugs I feel were funded by student loans, donor bribes and athletic scholarships. It can be viewed for free @ www.AmericanDrugWar.com. As the philosopher Richard Rorty about contemporary americans, they are "rich fat [and] tired;" they live in an "Alexandrian" culture. If we go back to May 1, 2009 Blog articles the writing son the wall with the issues surrounding Frank Cuenca. Mr Frank Cuenca of misappropriating trade secrets (now we know where his money came from) Auburn professors creating pretend courses for athletes), the University of Georgia (the canceling of classes for football games, trustee cronyism and wrongdoing, NCAA violations, rampant fan alcoholism), Ohio University ( 17 football players arrested in the last 10 months, and their coach recently convicted of drunk driving), the University.
