If you want to massively increase your jumping height and vertical, for basketball or volleyball or some other sport, there are several things that need to be included in your training in order to have good results. The next 2 drills that I am going to explain are a great starting point for your jumping exercises. Dumbbell Squat Jumps are an awesome beginner workout. These are plyometric exercises that are designed to strengthen your core, legs and hip explosion muscles. You will only need a good flat and strong floor and some dumbbells. Do not attempt this exercise if you are just starting out or not in decent shape because you can hurt yourself. Start out with weights that you feel comfortable completing the set with. Start with your feet at shoulder width apart, and hold the dumbbells at your side. Go down to squat position and jump up. You'l want to do10-15 reps per set, with 3 of those in a workout. Here's a neat workout, keg tosses. You will find this exercise in the world's strongest man workout. This unique exercise will strengthen your core, upper body and hip explosion muscles. Turn the keg over on its side and squat down in front of it. Pick up the keg by its sides and throw that bad boy as high as you can upwards. If you try to catch the keg, you might hurt yourself. Do this exercise till you cannot throw it anymore. You will feel very tired after this exercise. You will be able to look up workouts like these ones in the Jump Manual by Jacob Hiller which applies to both vertical volleyball and basketball. It's time to get serious about your jumping height, I highly recommend you check out this program. Don't let me sell you on the book, read the Jump Manual review while you are serious about this topic. Best of luck for you and your goals to jump higher! Look at Jump Bible and compare it to Jump Manual. Read the Jump Bible Review and other vertical jump programs at ReviewMOZ.org.
