A standard language (also standard dialect, standardized dialect, or standardised dialect) is a particular variety of a language that has been given either legal or quasi-legal status. As it is usually the form promoted in schools and the media, it is usually considered by speakers of the language to be more "correct" in some sense than other dialects. Usually, but not always, based on the tongue of a capital city, a standard language is defined by the selection of certain regional and class markers, and the rejection of others. This is the version of a language that is typically taught to learners of the language as a foreign language, and most texts written in that language follow its spelling and grammar norms. A standard written language is sometimes termed by the German word Schriftsprache. The creation of a prescriptive standard language, derives from the national (cultural, political, social) cohesion requiring an agreed, standardized tongue. Generally, standard languages usually are established upon

2. Knowing Fidelity by Rodney Howard Browne
October 22, 2009
Why? Why would a good and loving God ask an obedient and loyal man to do this? The answer can be discovered in the first language of Moses, the electrified, human writer of Genesis. The Hebrew word nasah, interpreted'tested' in Genesis 22:1, has the idea of building the standard of something, typically by placing it thru a trial of some type. God wished to demonstrate the validity-the authenticity-of Abraham's faith. He knew the middle of Abraham better than Abraham did. The elected patch of ground at the peak of a forsaken mountain in the land of Moriah was to be Abraham's building groun... (read more)

October 12, 2009
The Dutch language is spoken by more than 22 million people, most of them in countries like the Netherlands and Belgium. Given this statistic, Dutch can be considered as one of the more popular languages in Europe.
Before the 17th century the Dutch language was not yet standardized. There were many dialects in existence that it was beginning to pose a problem.
After the 17th century, after the standardization of the Dutch language has taken place, it became so much easier to identify the distinctions between the standard Dutch language and its dialects. But the developments surround... (read more)

4. Without Natural Affection and Covenant Breakers - Rom. 1:31
October 06, 2009
Most of us prefer a version of the Bible today that is a little more up to date in its language than is the old original American Standard Version of 1901 or the King James Version thus making the Bible a little easier to read and understand. However, in a few passages scattered about the Bible even the new literal translations like the ESV, NASB, and the NKJV, all excellent translations when taken as a whole, have led us slightly astray with inferior translations in an attempt to make reading easier for us.
One such example is found in Rom. 1:31. In Romans 1 Paul toward the middle of t... (read more)

7. What Is G-Code And How Does It Fit With CNC?
October 01, 2009
G-Code is the common name for the programming language of CNC Machines. Somewhat of a generic, catch-all type of term for CNC programming language. Very few machines adhere to this standard today. There are as many varations as there are manufacturers.
This is how I think of G-Code. It is a simple language built off of the Cartesian Coordinate System for motion control. I don’t know if that is exactly right but you will get my meaning in a second when we go through some code line by line. You will remember your High School Geometry soon enough. For the real pros out there you know there i... (read more)

8. Tapped t's in American English Pronunciation
October 02, 2009
One of the features that distinguish American English pronunciation from some other types of English pronunciation is the use of the so-called “tapped” t or d. This English sound is called an alveolar tap (also alveolar flap) by linguists, and corresponds to an r sound in many languages, such as the non-trilled r in Spanish and Italian, or the standard r sound in Arabic or Finnish. The general rule in American English pronunciation for whether a t or d is tapped says that these sounds should be tapped when they come after a stressed syllable, such as in ‘butter’ or ‘lady’. In both of the words... (read more)

20. Why go for W3C valid XHTML & CSS webpages?
September 01, 2009
I know many people these days running after W3C valid XHTML & CSS webpages but most of them don't know why should they go for it and I am writing this article to tell people why their pages should be W3C XHTML & CSS standard compliant.
