A tart is a pastry dish, usually sweet, that is a type of pie with an open top not covered with pastry. Sweetened fruit is arranged on pastry, often puff pastry, with or without custard, after which the tart is baked in an oven. The Tarte Tatin is a particular kind of "upside-down" tart, of apples, other fruit, or onions. Some tarts also contain similar fillings to certain pies, for example pecan pies can be bought in smaller portions similar to pie. Savoury varieties include German Zwiebelkuchen (Onion tart), or Swiss cheese tart made from Gruyere.

Kombucha tea isn't something you can purchase in a bottle or a bag. You need to brew up a batch of kombucha starter culture and grow your own.The health benefits of kombucha tea are many, and the taste is distinctively tart. The final product is lightly carbonated too. If you're interested in trying some, be prepared to do a little work and to wait for the finished product.Let it steep for at least 15 minutes. I know it will be strong, but it's necessary for the culture to grow. Strain the tea or tea bags out of the tea. * Let your tea cool down to room temperature, no warmer than 70F. A ho... (read more)

The tiny red berries also showed the ability to ward off the formation of plaque. And soon, people all over the world saw a highly-effective cranberry toothpaste in its future. (this writer cringes at the thought)
But researchers and dentists shouted at the exci... (read more)

4. Is "Bottleshock" a masterpiece or a shocker?
March 01, 2010
Have you ever been enjoying a wonderful bottle of wine and then a fellow dinner guest says it's "a bit tart", or "a bit heavy", or "it tastes like vinegar"?
I think wine is like art in that, for most people, it comes down to individual preference. What one person thinks is "to die for" and "worth every cent", the next would only use for tenderizing meat.
This seems to happen in a lot in the art world. The "work of genius" you love and admire might make someone else wonder if you've lost your marbles.
I once took my wife Bridget to see Bottleshock, a feature film dramatizing the ... (read more)

5. Are You A Credit Card Quiche?
February 26, 2010
Some people use the word tart as an insult; others as a bit of friendly banter. Either way, it's not the sort of term you associate with financial matters, especially not with credit cards. A credit card tart is someone who moves from credit card to credit card, taking advantage of the best offers. In the process, that person can save hundreds, and perhaps make money as well.
Being a successful credit card tart takes a bit of knowledge and a lot of organisation. The knowledge has to do with finding out which preferential rate deals are available. The organisation comes in remembering when... (read more)

January 30, 2010
Chronic bronchitis is similar to acute bronchitis, but there is more mucus. This makes breathing more difficult. Persistent coughing usually results and you may have infection.
The typical symptoms are a rattling cough, because of the increased secretion. Both your cough and your breathing may rattle. But, try as you might, you can scarcely bring any of the mucus up.
So frustrating!
It’s never a good idea to encourage untrained people to treat themselves for any chronic condition, as these conditions tend to be complicated. So you may not want to stop your current treatment. But... (read more)

10. Bronchitis Treatment With One Very Special Medicine
January 30, 2010
Bronchitis treatment can be effective and simple if you use homeopathy.
Symptoms of bronchitis start off like cold symptoms. But instead of getting better as the days pass, they get worse. The symptoms go to your chest, with congestion of your lungs. The airways and lungs start to increase their mucus secretion, so your breathing sounds noisy or rattling.
A cough develops and that too, has a rattling sound.
One of the irritating things of this condition is that the mucus can’t be hawked up, no matter how hard you try. In effect, you are drowning in your own mucus.
You feel ... (read more)

11. Bronchitis Symptoms Can Look Like a Common Cold
January 30, 2010
Bronchitis symptoms normally start out as common cold symptoms. That means common upper respiratory symptoms such as a cough, which may be dry or moist, and a stuffed up nose with catarrh.
This normally then progresses to your chest, as the lungs become congested. Then your cough is wet, moist or rattling. The mucus can be muco-purulent or purulent. But you often can’t bring it up, despite the cough. And you are short of breath, because the presence of so much mucus in your lungs stop them working efficiently.
As the condition worsens, you tend to become weaker, sleeping more.

13. Acute Bronchitis is Easy to Resolve with This Special Medicine
January 30, 2010
Acute bronchitis mostly affects new-borns and the elderly. Any illness means the immune system is not working well. New-borns don’t have an immune system and the elderly normally have compromised immunities.
If the mother is very healthy during pregnancy and the elderly make sure their immunity is always high, it’s unlikely either will ever get bronchitis.
Symptoms start out similar to a common cold, but then get worse, rather than better. The stuffed up feeling in your nose goes to your chest and you suffer congestion of the lungs.
The mucus secretion increases, you get short o... (read more)

Now let me tell you this right now. The taste was NOT pleasant at all... I bought the SuperPump 250 Lemon Burst flavor, and it was probably the most TART, and unbearable thing to try to get down my throat... So probably 15 minutes after the dreadful gulps of Lemon Burst, I start feeling really anxious and "jittery". My skin started itching in my hands and face from the extreme doses of caffeine in the product, and I got really pumped to go lift a weight. After are stretches I dashed over to the dumbbells and started lifting. Now, this product doesn't make you lift HEAVIER, just it gives you mo... (read more)
