Tennis is a sport played between two players ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a strung racquet to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. The modern game of tennis originated in the United Kingdom in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis" which has heavy connections to various field/lawn games as well as to the ancient game of real tennis. After its creation, tennis spread throughout the upper-class English-speaking population before spreading around the world[1]. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including people in wheelchairs. In the United States, there is a collegiate circuit organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The rules of tennis have changed very little since the 1890s. Two exceptions are that from 1908 to 1960 the server had to keep one foot on the ground at all times, and then the adoption of the tie-break in the 1970s. A recent addition to professional tennis has been the adoption of electronic review technology coupled with a point challenge system, which allows a player to challenge the line (or chair) umpire's call of a point. Tennis enjoys millions of recreational players and is also a hugely popular worldwide spectator sport, especially the four Grand Slam tournaments (sometimes referred to as the "majors") the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.

1. Teens Need Each other!
November 05, 2009
The afternoon after the 31st of October, after everyone had gotten over the pumpkins and dress ups, my brother and I were walking back home after playing a great game of tennis.
It all started when a large group of teens were walking towards us on the footpath. There were tens of them! They were filling up the entire walk way! I had to squeeze in between the group of adolescents and the wall of the road! And they were carrying bags! With what looked like towels!
Oh no!
But then the scariest part came... ANOTHER group of teenagers, also walking down the street, in a large group... (read more)

3. What is the price you pay for choosing the wrong tennis teacher?
November 05, 2009
Not too long ago I have written this tennis instruction lesson about the topspin tennis forehand, and Novack Djokovic was at the center of this article.
For over 3 years I have been aware why Novak just can not take the Nr1 spot and if he does it will be short lived.
The fact that I have been holding this back from you for over three years has me pretty upset, but on the other hand if I open my mouth, in other words if I put this into writing, I will be considered the biggest male chauvinist pig after what Justin Gimelstob said; 'I'm only seven matches away from my first Grand Sl... The tendency to watch over prized objects grows and takes root in a dog during its puppyhood. Few things can possibly be cuter than a Havanese puppy gloating while curled around a bone, or a tennis ball. Nevertheless, this behavior is normally not suppose to be lost in a dog. Being social and pack animals, dogs tend to be protective, since they are very much aware that if something gets lost, there are nil chances of recovering them.
From the experience of Havanese Training, bitches are observed to guard more often than the males. The male dogs, in turn, have plenty of guarding tendencies... (read more)
