Weird and Wonderful: Unusual Things To Do in Malaga

Travel & Tourism
Sun-soaked Malaga is a favourite holiday destination for many keen travellers and fun-seekers, although that doesn’t mean your trip has to be predictable. With such a diverse range of activities available, you can satisfy each of your interests while being sure to fall in love with something completely new. If adrenaline-fuelled sports, mysterious caves or festive parties sound good to you, you’re in the right place. Read on to discover the wonders of this fabulous city.

When you find yourself desperate to book your holiday after exploring just a few of the fantastic activities on offer, be sure to consider Malaga airport transfers as well as booking your flights to guarantee a smooth and stress-free journey every step of the way.

Sun, Sea and Sports

Whether you’re a confirmed adrenaline junkie or fancy testing the waters of some new sports, there’s no better place to fulfil your need for speed than a coastal town which prides itself on its array of water sporting options. With the entire stretch of the Costa Del Sol at your disposal, it would be a crime not to venture out on that crystal blue water and give something a go, be it paragliding, surfing or kite surfing. It’s not all about the sea, though, as you can also get stuck into a fun day of rafting or quad biking.

Lose Yourself in Nerja Caves

For something completely different, take yourselves on a tour of the mesmerising cave network to be found in seaside town, Nerja. Get your exploring hats on (and perhaps a jumper in case it’s chilly) and head down below to navigate the almost five kilometres of cave. Don’t miss the wonderous sight of the world’s largest stalagmite, measuring up at 32 metres high.

Party Like It’s 1487

The locals have been celebrating the re-conquest of Malaga every year since it was rightfully returned to the Malagueños in August 1487, and this year is no exception. For ten wonderful days, the city is bursting with colour, music and dancing in which locals and tourists alike love to get involved.

Watch the fireworks, flamenco dancers and enjoy a spot of sherry – and make sure you also attend the historic parade on the first day of the festival to kick the celebration off and learn a little history.

How to Get There

If by now you’re itching to begin organising your summer adventure, start with a very reasonably priced flight out of any UK airport to land you safely at Malaga Airport. Transfers to your accommodation should be your next port of call, as you’ll want to get there as soon as possible to ditch your bags and start exploring! Malaga airport transfers will be readily available, professional and affordable so there’s no need to faff around with public transport.

So, get packing your suitcases and don’t forget your flamenco gear!
