The term " Web 2.0" (pronounced "Web two point oh") is commonly associated with web applications which facilitate interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design[1] and collaboration on the World Wide Web. Examples of Web 2.0 include web-based communities, hosted services, web applications, social-networking sites, video-sharing sites, wikis, blogs, mashups and folksonomies. A Web 2.0 site allows its users to interact with other users or to change website content, in contrast to non-interactive websites where users are limited to the passive viewing of information that is provided to them. The term is closely associated with Tim O'Reilly because of the O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004.[2][3] Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but rather to cumulative changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the Web. Whether Web 2.0 is qualitatively different from prior web technologies has been challenged by World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee who called the term a "piece of jargon"[4]. The term "Web 2.0" was coined by Darcy DiNucci in 1999. In her article "Fragmented Future," she writes[5] Her use of the term deals mainly with Web design and aesthetics; she argues that the Web is "fragmenting" due to the widespread use of portable Web-ready devices. Her article is aimed at designers, reminding them to code for an ever-increasing variety of hardware. As such, her use of the term hints at - but does not directly relate to - the current uses of the term.

1. How Web Hosting Affects SEO Results
November 19, 2009
You will often hear people sigh about the "rat race” and pine for a so-called "simpler time" 10, 20 or 50 years ago when everything was just right. The problem is, there never was such a time, and 50 years ago people were pining for an older era, too. However, there is one group of people who have no illusions about "good old days." Internet professionals, information technology (IT) workers and high-tech folks in general have no desire to go back to DOS 5.0, 5¼ inch floppies and 4.88MHz processors. They may have fond memories of visiting The Well over a phone modem, but they know that going b... (read more)

7. Correct positioning of your Google adsense ads
November 06, 2009
Correct positioning of your Google adsense ads can make or break your success with the Google adsense program. Why is this true? Some studies suggest that eye positioning on website gravitate to particular sections of web pages. And if you don’t have the necessary ads in these positions you will not get the clicks. I talked to countless people that have great traffic, some with 300 to 1000 new visitors a day that say that they only make approx. at max $10 to $20 dollars a month on the adsense program. What a shame. But when I look at their websites the ads are either buried in wording th... (read more)
