Writing is the representation of language in a textual medium through the use of a set of signs or symbols (known as a writing system). It is distinguished from illustration, such as cave drawing and painting, and the recording of language via a non-textual medium such as magnetic tape audio. Writing began as a consequence of the burgeoning needs of accounting. Around the 4th millennium BC, the complexity of trade and administration outgrew the power of memory, and writing became a more dependable method of recording and presenting transactions in a permanent form (Robinson, 2003, p. 36). A person who composes a message or story in the form of text is generally known as a writer or an author. However, more specific designations exist which are dictated by the particular nature of the text such as that of poet, essayist, novelist, playwright, journalist, and more. A person who transcribes, translates or produces text to deliver a message authored by another person is known as a scribe, typist or typesetter. A person who produces text with emphasis on the aesthetics of glyphs is known as a calligrapher or graphic designer. Writing is also a distinctly human activity. It has been said that a monkey, randomly typing away on a typewriter (in the days when typewriters replaced the pen or plume as the preferred instrument of writing) could re-create Shakespeare-- but only if it lived long enough (this is known as the infinite monkey theorem). Such writing has been speculatively designated as coincidental. It is also speculated that extra-terrestrial beings exist who may possess knowledge of writing. The fact is that the only known writing is human writing.

3. How to Write an Ebook WITHOUT Writing It
November 21, 2008
Writing doesn't come easily to many people which is why there are so many article-directories out there. The few who can write well are willing to provide content for your website so long as you give credit to the author and put a link on your site. This is a very equitable arrangement as YOU don't have to write, and THEY get links to their website. This is definitely a win-win situation. That's ONE thing you can do with articles written by other people. Another great way to use other people's content is to put several articles together into a compendium-book. 7. Getting Your Postcards to Your Customers
November 21, 2008
I’ve recently been writing a series of articles discussing exactly how you get various forms of marketing material to your customers, and feel this is something particularly interesting to consider when dealing with postcards.
The main reason is because postcards have become heavily associated with one specific method, which is direct mailing. In fact, when I often discuss companies who print postcards, I mention postcards and direct mailing as if they were one in the same. Most people don’t offer much of a difference between the two, and I’ve met many people who have been s... (read more)

11. Credit Repair Law Firms VS. Self Help Credit Credit Repair
November 21, 2008
There are tons of law firms that specialize in credit repair. I may get sued for writing this, but it's my opinion that credit repair law firms like Lexington Law and others are scams. Lexington Law currently charges a $99 setup fee and anywhere from $39 to $79 every month. Their business module and objective is to keep you as a client as long as they can because of the fact that is how they make their money. In fact, some credit law firms tell you that it could take more than a year and sometimes up to three years. No wonder these guys are getting richer. Imagine taking their average amount... How many people enjoy writing a resume? Not many. And what about job interviewing? Again, not many. 23. Positive Thought: The Stages of Power
November 21, 2008
There has always been an interest in the power of the mind and, specifically, the effect of it's polarity. My goal in writing this article is to offer an explanation without any attachment to spirituality or religion as my understanding doesn't require that you subscribe to any particular system of beliefs.
I think it's important to clarify that I don't believe positive thinking removes all obligation of taking action simply because the action step (no matter how seemingly insignificant the action may seem) is the step that solidifies the thought.
