Some pay a one time flat commission on sales, while others provide the opportunity to earn income on additional purchases by referrals. Business opportunity affiliate programs offer the opportunity to earn residual or lifetime income. Some affiliate programs pay for leads as well. Before marketing any product or program, be certain that you understand the commission structure. Once you have selected affiliate products, your next task is to drive traffic to your affiliate website. There are many ways to do this, some much more effective than others. If you have your own website, you can promote products that are closely related to what your site is about. Using a blog to promote affiliate products can also be very effective if the subject of your blog relates closely to what you are selling. For instance, if your blog is about personal safety, then you might want to consider selling personal safety products, books, etc. There are many other ways to advertise such as pay per click, ezine, etc., but these methods can be quite costly, and should only be considered if you have a good bit of online marketing experience. Affiliate Marketing is a relatively painless way for a person to try and earn money online. While it's not as easy to earn money with affiliate marketing as many would lead you believe, it is something that anyone can learn. Start out by visiting some forums and blogs that focus on affiliate marketing, and learn from people who have had success in this arena. Keep in mind if someone else can do it, you can as well.
