As I was driving back from my sister's yesterday, I got to thinking about how often she reminded Frank about doing this or doing that, and his reply being "I will Deb, or "ok, ok" or something to that effect, and I got to thinking why is it that many women seem to 'nag' us about doing one thing or another, and one of those simple but profound answers came to me, because they have do! What I mean by that if women didn't constantly remind us of things needing to be done, they would NEVER get done. It seems that the nature of men once they get married and become domesticated to some point is to take on another mindset. It seems that we don't want to do much of anything around the house that involves fixing, repairing, painting or anything of that nature. Now I know men who have their own shop at the house, and they love to get out there and build things, but that's different. Out there they get off to themselves, and use their 'manly' tools to build something for the house, or someone. But when it comes to fixing a leaking spigot, or painting the walls outside that have needed painting forever, forget it. After pondering this, and going to work and asking a fellow female employee about this,(see I'm either brave or extremely foolish) she laughed and told me that her routine was that after mentioning something a time or two to her husband, she would proceed to start in on the task, and before long she would have him up and about and actually doing the task. Now I know that might work with some men, but there's plenty of others who could just as easily sit on the couch watching T.V. or reading or something else, as if she wasn't even there. This usually only lasts for a period of time, because eventually they will make it very uncomfortable for a man to ignore the little lady. I just think its some latent genetic thing that kicks in once men get married. Now if my sister asks me to do something, I'm usually right on it, and enjoy doing it for her. But I'm not married to her, and that's the difference. Bill Thomas lives in Seattle, Wa. He is actively engaged in E-Commerce and Internet Marketing.
