">If you are planning to do any remodeling to your home you probably have already discovered that the process involves a lot of contractors. If you are planning to add a second bathroom or expand your kitchen you are also going to need to add a plumbing contractor to that list. Your plumber will also be working closely with the general contractor you hire or you if you choose to be your own general contractor to ensure the timing correlate with your every stage of the job. This is where a plumber will either sink or swim his reputation and this is where you can eliminate the leg work to search for a reputable plumber. You can review plumbers from your computer screen and make your selection of the top three to get bids from without even breaking a sweat. Once you decide on some candidates you will need to do a face to face interview and get a written bid from each contractor. Let each of the plumbers know you are getting multiple bids, its common practice so nobody should feel you are wasting their time by being upfront on this. If your plumber is late without calling to let you know for this first appointment it may be a red flag of future problems. Remember this is the time they are trying to get a job- they should be showing you’re their best character traits at this point. If all goes well and the plumber shows up on time and is professional they should be able to give you bids that are comparable. Don’t rule someone out because the bid is too high and by the same token don’t accept the lowest bid blindly based on price alone. Take their reputation, experience and how professional they appear in consideration along with the bid numbers before you hire anyone. A remodel job is messy, it’s stressful and it never seems to get done on time. But who you hire to be your plumbing contractor shouldn’t be anything but easy with this sure fire method.
