The patient can expect to swell a bit around the area affected by the procedure. Bruising is also another expected occurrence as well as some numbness in the area. Within the second week after liposuction, the patient can return to work and do some light chores but no severe straining or taxing work yet. An average of five to six month will reveal the desired results of the operation. By then all the swelling and bruising should have gone down and the patient will be able to go back to his daily routines if he has not yet.
