With a power drill, make small holes into the window frame and then use these holes and some screws to secure the extensions to the wall. Many people skip every step following the one where the window comes down. They simply trust the window itself to hold the unit in place. This can be a costly mistake. Take the time to secure the unit in completely and you can be sure that your unit isn’t going to fall out accidentally and break or cause injury to someone walking by. Naturally, a window unit is simply not going to be enough for some people. If you live in a larger house, you’ll have to buy several units or upgrade to a central system.
