The Budva Riviera is a strip of Adriatic coastline that comprises of more than seventeen beautiful sand beaches in Budva and smaller villages and settlements in its vicinity. It is 35 km long and about 13 km of its length are turned into a paradise for tourists. They represent a real treasure for Montenegro and its tourism and therefore are placed under special protection in order to be well preserved. Some of the most popular beaches in Budva are Jaz, Mogren, Slovenska Beach and Saint Nikola. Jaz is situated 2,5 km to the north of Budva and it is about 1200m long. The beach is sandy and pebbly. One part of the beach is turned into a beach for nudists. There is a camp nearby that can accept about 2000 tourists. Mogren consists of two parts and it is about 350 m long. It is considered to be the most attractive beach on the Adriatic coast. Mogren is only 150 m away from the Old Town and the Hotel Avala. It is sheltered on one side by the hill of Spas and its thick oak and pine forest. It has a part that is especially suitable for divers and those who like to take risky jumps into the sea. Slovenska Beach is the name for both the beach and the complex of hotels, restaurants and cafes that are built along the beach line. It is covered with pebbles that go into the sea as well. The beach is about 1600m long and has several courts for the sportsmen. The island Saint Nikola is only one kilometer away from Budva and it consists of three beautiful sand beaches that are about 840 m long. Beautiful Mediterranean vegetation spreads along the beach. One side of the island is made of steep cliffs which are attractive to the risk takers and divers. You have to pay for the admittance to these beaches but the fee is not too high.
