There are a lot of small goals that you can make that will change your eating habits. First, you want to make sure that you are eating on a consistent basis. The idea that you are only to be eating three meals a day and that breakfast should be your smallest meal and dinner should be your largest meal may not be the healthiest way to eat. You want to make sure that you understand that when you are eating you should be eating because you are hungry. Although you want to only be eating when you are hungry you also have to make sure that you do not wait until you feel starving. Second, you can start by focusing on your portion sizes. There are a lot of people that struggle with eating too much because they have not learned what a proper portion size is or how to keep their food consumption down to the proper portion size. This means, that you should be eating small portions of food every few hours. Make sure that you are giving yourself portions of food that are acceptable and that will keep you full for a few hours after you are done eating. Third, start by eating a healthy and well-balanced breakfast. Preparing for breakfast is important and you want to be sure that you have the food that you need ready for you before you are rolling out of bed in the morning. Take the time to start by understanding what you feel like eating in the morning. You should be excited about your breakfast and you want to be sure that you are starting the day of with a positive attitude about your eating. You do not even necessarily have to stick with traditional breakfast foods. When you find something that is high in protein and low in fat you may want to include that item in your breakfast menu. Make sure that you take the time that you need to understand how you are going to wake up earlier or go to sleep earlier the night before to make time for your breakfast. You should not be starting the morning off hungry. When you start with a sound breakfast you will have a healthier day. If you do not have time for breakfast, you should be making time for breakfast. Finally, listen to what your body because it will tell you when you are hungry or full. When you are hungry you should be eating and you want to be sure that you are eating enough food to be full. Be sure that you are taking all of the time that you need to be sure that you are able to understand how your body talks to you.
