Some of us may begin balding young , and the reasoning for this in 95% of the cases is hereditary, baldness can be inherited through both male and female sides of the family. Male pattern baldness also known as androgenic alopecia is the most common of baldings, it is characterized by hair receding from the sides of the forehead, known as a "receding hairline". Balding Young are usually seen in males around the ages of 20 but can be also seen as early as late teens as well. Female hair loss, also known as female pattern baldness, is not as common as it is with men , generally the front of the hairline is preserved but the rest of the hair loses its density around the scalp. Women are more likly to show the pshychological effects of hair loss at younger ages.Treatments for various forms of hair loss have limited success, some balding sufferers make use of the few proven treatments , and mainly minoxidil. I like many of yourselfs experienced young balding. At the age of 17 i started to thin out, and hair loss was coming quicker. By the age of 19 i had the normal male pattern baldness, plenty of hair on the sides, and middle on the top of my head, but bald spots on the back top of my head, and the front forehead. At first i was embarassed by this, but then i realised hair loss is just a part of every day life. I do not shave my head, or believe in wearing a hairpiece as both look un-natural, once i had embraced the baldness i became happier as a person. I no longer feel embarassed like i did when i was a bit younger, as i am 24 now , i feel confident in my self. So just some helpful advice for people in the futre or present that are balding at a young age, its natural there isnt much you can do about it, certain products can stop it completly and other can even regrow it, or you can do was most people do now a days and accept it as a part of life. I no longer allow my loss of hair, or thinning hair to stand in my way of my life's dreams! Ryan Browning - 24 From Canada Balding Young
