The situation however is this - Freelancers are now very popular due to websites like odesk and elance. The Virtual Employee concept is relatively new. How many people know about this kind of setup is nothing in comparison to the number of people that are familiar with the concept of a freelancer. What then happens is that clients need a VE or Dedicated Virtual Employee but because they do not know it exists they hire a freelancer. This is when problems arise. They need a full time Dedicated Programmer for one year but the freelancer devotes his time across three different clients - this is when the VE performance will surpass that of the freelancer. Client needs x but it receiving y. If client’s project is long term and valuable - they have two options VE or freelancer - VE will give better results than a freelancer if the two are compared. If you compare a VE and freelancer as they should be compared then in reality there should not be a comparison because freelancers should be used for short term projects and VE for long term projects - so freelancer v VE is a bit like shadow boxing - really there is no fight - at least there should be no fight - its a bit like comparing maybe trains and aero planes - if business man wants to go from Delhi to gorgon or Noida - would it make sense to catch a plane? Of course not - it is better to go on metro. But if business man wants to go from Delhi to Bangalore - because he has very important business meeting in 2 days and this business man is very rich - does it make sense to catch 16 hour train? No, business man is better off flying first class on aero plane and arriving in Bangalore in 2 hours - the situation with VE freelancers is exactly like this - business men are catching 16 hour trains for very important business meetings - this is inefficient way of transport for someone who has a lot of money and very important meetings - Ambani Brother or Tata or Mittal - they would not travel by train they would travel by aero plane to get from Delhi to Bangalore- what happening here is that business men are catching 16 hour trains - that like using a freelancer when u really need a VE to Virtual Employee. So really they have their own independent and separate markets but because clients are forced to use freelancers because they are unaware of VE's that is when the competition starts and the we make the comparisons that VE will hands down beat any freelancer for valuable and long term projects....
