The first is it is extremely breathable and allows moisture to easily escape. Second there are Touch Points on the inner surface of the fabric that wick moisture from your skin to the outside allowing it to easily evaporate. Thirdly the sweat, upon reaching the outside of the fabric, spreads out creating a larger surface area that allows it to dry two times faster than cotton. Polartec® Wind Pro® - This fabric is 4 times more wind resistant then regular fleece and can be used as both outerwear or in the more traditional role of layered insulating layer. It is made of proprietary yarns that are tightly constructed to reduce the effects of chilling winds. Its water-repellant outer surface is durable and is effective in its ability to repel rain and snow. Polartec® Thermal Pro® - These are the most technically advanced of all the Polartec® insulating fabrics. It is available in a variety of different textures and patterns. The newest versions are known for achieving the highest weight-to-warmth ratio because of their unique high-loft capability. Polartec® Power Dry® - Designed to keep the skin dry as perspiration increases this fleece features a patented bi-component knit construction using different yarns on each side of the fabric. By creating two surfaces, one of which is optimized to wick moisture away from the skin and the other to dry quickly, this fleece moves 30 percent more moisture away from the skin than single component fabrics.
