Supply gap is still increasing. Expansion driven by demand, this year, imports prices of cassava chips and cassava starch continued to rise, dried cassava priced in Vietnam currently is about 240 ~ 260 U.S. dollars / ton (FOB); ordinary cassava starch price is about 2250 ~ 2310 yuan / ton (CIF). Vietnam cassava prices make China enterprise continuously increasing pressure. Many domestic cassava starch factory is trying to produce cassava, sweet sorghum as the main raw material of non-grain ethanol, the domestic production of cassava starch is only 100 million tons,which can't meet the industry development in our country for a year, cassava starch imports has exceeded 1 million tons. Domestic cassava ethanol in Guangxi have become the fastest growing region, but also because of its rich resources of cassava. Guangxi as the country's largest cassava starch and cassava ethanol production base, both acreage and production is about 70% of the national total. However, ethanol companies in the area of fresh cassava and cassava starch demand has exceeded the local production, the need to import large quantities. Such as Guangxi Mingyang Biochemical Group is the largest manufacturer of cassava starch, the company is working to build an annual output of 300,000 tons of modified starch, 300,000 tons alcohol of large international group of companies; Cofco investing heavily in guangxi Beihai construction with cassava as raw material to produce fuel ethanol projects; Pingxiang, Guangxi Feng Hao alcohol plant construction in mind, is make full use of the rich resources of cassava in Vietnam, the years demand of dry cassava is about 140000 tonnes. In addition to large enterprises, number of similar small and medium enterprises in Guangxi require a lot of cassava raw materials. Even in the cassava growing county Guangxi Wuming, many cassava processing enterprises also need to import cassava. 32 provinces in central and southern Vietnam, the annual average of 10 months have fresh and quality cassava market, which can be varied further processing. However, Vietnam is currently only a medium-sized ethanol processing enterprises, most of the cassava plant equipment is outdated, backward technology, high energy consumption, waste pollution is serious, urgent need of replacement. China guangxi in planting and processing of cassava has the good foundation,development with Vietnam and other ASEAN countries of cassava starch industry cooperation has comparative advantage. The is the only way to fundamentally solve the cassava supply and rising prices of the problem.
