Children have become so sedentary and underactive that it has become an epidemic of large proportion. It is a fact that today’s children require technological stimulation far more than generations of old did. It seems to be in their genetic make-up nowadays. If you want to know how your latest gizmo or gadget works and you can’t figure it out just ask your kids and you’ll be up and running in no time! It is, however, unfortunate that childhood facets are missing from our children’s lives that we took for given in our childhood. Role play, story-telling and imagination that stem from the child themselves and are enacted by them are sorely lacking. Apart from stimulating and engaging children technologically, they open up a world of possibility, fantasy and interactive play on a good old-fashioned level.
