Another reason to get a full night's sleep is that your body produces antibodies while it is resting. If you are not getting enough sleep at night then chances are that your immune system is weak and you will be more likely to get sick and suffer from disease. This is also related to people who have intestinal issues and headaches. Lastly, sleep deprivation leads to weight gain. Your metabolic rate will drop drastically when you aren't getting enough sleep. Without this metabolism you will find that you have an increased appetite and less of the hormone that lets you know when you feel full. This leads to poor eating habits which will then cause obesity. All these things can create depression which may lead to other sleeping disorders such as insomnia. There are many cures for insomnia on the market today. Try and find an effective OTC sleeping pill before going the prescription route due to the possible side effects.
