Primarily the Titleist AP2 irons are aimed more at the mid to low handicap golfer. Players who already play a pretty good golf game, but are perhaps looking to take their play up another level. They are definitely nice looking irons that would look good in any golfers bag. However this isn’t always the indicator of a good performing iron, as alot of good golfers will tell you. Despite being aimed at the better player, the Titleist AP2 irons are relatively easy to hit if you have a decent repetitive swing. Even the longer irons don’t really present too much of a problem in this area, as long as you’re not intimidated by them. The AP2's high-tech, multi-material construction features a steel body, tungsten nickel sole, elastomer bar and aluminum cavity plate. AP2 is built to deliver both performance and feel. The dual cavity design of the Titleist AP2 irons pushes weight to the perimeter for forgiveness. A central cross member featuring a soft elastomer cushion provides structural rigidity behind the impact area while also dampening face vibration for better overall feel. The lower cavity of the Titleist AP2 iron is enclosed by a tungsten nickel box. This high-density material locates the weight low and deep while providing structural rigidity and low frequency vibration dampening for outstanding solid feel. The tungsten nickel box helps reduce the sole and back flange width for better turf performance and shot control. The Titleist AP2 irons feature contemporary technology with traditional Titleist feel for the better and aspiring player. The AP stands for Advanced Performance, and the new irons deliver on that promise. The AP2 features a multi-material construction and dual cavity design that combine to provide unmatched feel, forgiveness and playability in a Titleist iron. Four different materials are used in the construction of the AP2 irons, including a steel body, tungsten nickel steel box, and central support bar with elastomer cushion and aluminum cavity plate. The Titleist AP2 iron body is forged with 1020 mild carbon steel. The elastomer cushion boosts structural rigidity back of the impact area and cushions the dampening face vibration. This explains the iron's highly rated overall feel. A high density tungsten-nickel box encloses the lower cavity of the Titleist AP2 irons. The material keeps the weight low and significantly deep and reinforces structural rigidity while keeping vibration frequency low. Using a tungsten-nickel box was a smart choice because it reduced sole and back flange width assuring sharper performance on the greens and better shot control. Golfers say, “Just trade in my 690 .CB Irons for Titliest AP2 Project X Steel Shaft 5.5 this is the iron that has a forgiveness and feel when you hit the golf ball right at center of the face it does have the soft feel at infact I never used this shaft Project X 5.5 sort of like Rifle shaft. I love it.” “Finally a set of irons from titleist that are made for the more advanced player that are a joy to play. Workable, yet forgivable with the solid feel of forged. Improved distance and ball flight control. Thanks Titleist” “Best clubs i have ever hit. I’ve played many clubs. No clubs are forged, forgiving, and this amazing…” Looking for player-proven performance? AP2 irons were the most-played model on the PGA Tour in 2008 and ’09, as well as the most-played iron at the ’09 Club Professional Championship and the ’09 U.S. Amateur. The multimaterial, dual-cavity design increases playability with shot control, while the soft-forged construction provides great feel. As a beginner in golf, I've looking for golf clubs from many websites. I think the taylormade r11 driver is great. It improved my game fastly. I also tried the callaway diablo edge irons for fast speed and increased distance. It's very easy to use even for me. Finding a right club for myself is really a hard thing. If you have any other recommendations, please tell me. By the way, I begin to use ping g20 driver recently.
