An analyst informed on Monday, that Research In Motion (RIM) has been asked to cut down the fees for the charge carriers for BlackBerry service for this year. The struggling smartphone company’s business model is likely to get cut into pillars. RIM has set up its own network infrastructure. This allows to feed all the data and coding to BlackBerry handsets through its cellular network. It has been reported that a Canadian company made earning of almost $ 1 billion from the services last quarter which is just one-fifth of its total sales.
Sameet Kanade, a Northern security analyst, commented that it was a slow move for RIM to get hold of the rising threat posed by companies permitting their employees to use their handsets for work. And these carrier has been a cause for paying the charges. The statement has been passed by analyst that they strongly believe that RIM is not having its big time on its side. A note sent to clients informs that there will be a cut in rating on RIM stock to “sell” from “ speculative buy” . In addition to it the note states that there will be break in price target from $ 24 to $ 7. Reports say RIM’s share slash down 4.3 percent to $ 13.20 on Nasdaq on this Monday. Information from the data reveals that due to RIM’s falling US market share they have lost 80 percent of their value since February 2011. The launched product gave dismal earning. Also many analysts has predicted that the coming month would bring a tough earnings.
RIM’s make-or-break BlackBerry 10 smartphones will need a new form of server software component to mange the rival devices of its core enterprise customers. User of Google’s Android software users, the Apple iPhone and iPad will be managed by software. This component is called as Mobile Fusion. As per the analyst , Mr. Kanade both traditional carriers and companies presenting the same types of products at much lower cost.
According to Kanade’s estimation, RIM would get around $ 5 a month on each subscriber. This will bring a fall below $ 2 per user by February 2013. His expectation shows that there will be a fall in service revenue by 48 percent within next two years. Toronto Stock Exchange showed the downfall of 2.8 percent at C$ 13.22 of the stock. Northen’s parent company who owns Jaguar Financial which has showed its agitation for the complete change at RIM which will include a break-up or sale.
