Federal government grants can be won by submission of suitably prepared government grant applications, which should be presented in the form of a business case and/or plan to achieve maximum chance of obtaining any federal business grants or grants for non profit organizations. Typically business owners, CEOs and other responsible persons within a business can make application for grant aid from central government in categories such as: • federal business grants • grants to start a business • research grants On the other hand nonprofit organizations such as drug and alcohol rehabilitation, local community organizations and church ministries to mention just a few examples can apply for federal grant aid and funding in the following categories: • grants for churches • community grants • minority grants • green grants These are typical of the types of grant any business owner or responsible person in a not for profit scheme can make application for; the scope of government grants which are available are wide and varied, and any application should show evidence of what the business or organization is, how it operates, what systems are in place for dispersal of any grant aid received, as well as immediate, short, medium and long term goals and sustainability. If it is a business grant, it should be clearly set out how the business will benefit, how the local economy will benefit from improved job opportunities and/or increased tax revenues for government. A nonprofit organization application needs to show how the community will benefit as a whole, what the targets are for sustainable ongoing aid, and how it will benefit municipal, state and federal government. Making a case application and presenting it for submission to the relevant board has to be in a professional presentation form; without beating about the bush, it will take a lot of blood, sweat and tears to piece together a suitable application. However, the effort will be rewarded when the grant aid application is successful and the federal money is awarded and released. The future success of any business and/or nonprofit organization and its continued longevity is a measure of the people working within that business and/or organization; show evidence of how hard the people are working now and what results have already been achieved will make a good argument for funding to enable further sustainable success One thing is certain; without making a grant application for federal government grants for the business and/or nonprofit for which the potential grant is intended, nothing will be forthcoming.
